In addition to hearing from the people who are building the town of Tanba Sasayama, staying in an old folk house, and eating delicious food, this year's concept is "a third party dives into the lifestyle of the village." The purpose of this trip is to experience life surrounded by abundant nature and interacting with people who are everyday in the countryside but don't exist in the city. By entering the village and working with local residents to do the necessary work for the season, such as mowing the grass, cleaning ditches, and inspecting animal pest fences, you will learn about the rules of the countryside and the busyness of part-time farmers, which you may have been wondering about.

Through this trip, you will experience the busy life in the countryside and try to see how far you can go while having fun with your guide and other participants! You are also free to join the village drinking party that starts in the evening.

We have created a trip for people who want to learn more about Tamba Sasayama from a different perspective, or who want to make Tamba Sasayama a second base, where they can stay for more than just tourism but not necessarily moving, and discover, confirm, enjoy, and make decisions through interactions with other people, in a way that makes everything feel like it is their own.

What is a trip to Tambasasayama like?

Located about an hour from Kyoto, Osaka, and Kobe, Tanba Sasayama is described by many visitors as "just the right amount of countryside" and "a town with tranquil countryside." After a castle was built about 400 years ago, it flourished as a castle town, and even today traditional buildings, culture, and the lifestyle of the countryside that has been passed down for generations remain.

In Tanba Sasayama, where nostalgia and newness coexist, come experience the local community and learn about the ideas of immigrants through experiences and conversations with local people. Enjoy the time and food you can expect to spend in this nature-rich satoyama.

Choose from the "more than sightseeing" course and the "less than relocation" course

During your stay in Tanba Sasayama, you may find something that interests you.
The experience of diving into the village is common to both courses, and on the other dates you can choose one of two courses.

Sightseeing course (maximum 6 people)

This is the sixth year of the Satoyama Living Tour. There is a reason why we changed the title to "Can I Live in the Countryside Tour?" Our staff, who are from the local area to those who have moved here, went back to the basics of creating the trip and shared their opinions from their own perspectives. The countryside scattered throughout Japan must each have its own characteristics. Tanba Sasayama has many faces, such as a constant presence of annual immigrants, a gathering of craftsmen and shops, and a perfect countryside. On this tour, we want participants to experience places they would not be able to explore on their own, and experience the real aspects of living in this land. We have ultimately landed on this idea. Please share your impressions of the trip on the last day of the trip or after you return home. We will also deliver the impressions of Tanba Sasayama residents at the same time.
