The Tsuruga-Wakasa area is located in the southwestern part of Fukui Prefecture and consists of six cities: Tsuruga City, Mihama Town, Wakasa Town, Obama City, Ooi Town, and Takahama Town. On March 16, 2024, the Hokuriku Shinkansen will be extended to Tsuruga Station, shortening the travel time to Tokyo (minimum 3 hours and 8 minutes).
