Our adorable sake cups are by Nagai Seichiku (Beppu's only bamboo factory), and are then laser-cut with a unique design imprinted upon them. Bamboo is light and easy to hold, making these an ideal souvenir choice. Even if you're not a sake connoisseur, these lovely little wooden cups have endless possibilities!

2. Paper knives

We started selling paper knives in response to feedback from our overseas visitors. These knives can be used to open documents and letters, books, magazines, etc. A stylish item that will look impressive on your desk, the blade itself is not sharp and is made specifically for paper, so you can take it home with peace of mind!

3. Crane-neck vase

Our crane-neck vases are perfect for a single flower. The curved part expertly illustrates the delicacy of bamboo, whilst the tubular part showcases its sturdiness, making this item a fine example of quality bamboo artisanship. The natural colour of the bamboo also creates excellent contrast to the brightness of your chosen flowers.

4. 'Oni' (ogre) drawstring bag

When you think of Beppu, you probably think of 'onsen' (hot springs) and its famous 'hells'. This cute drawstring bag features an ogre bathing in a hot spring - but instead of looking for trouble, it's simply saying 'hell-o!' - (that's actually a combination of the words 'hell' and the first 'o' of 'onsen' - we being the witty linguistic geniuses that we are). As well as being a lovely gift for children, this little bag is also great for storing hot spring items (cosmetics, etc.), making it both practical and versatile.
