The Moon has a very special place in Japanese culture, being at the center of annual traditions, especially in September, the month of the Harvest Moon.
Moon Art Night Shimokitazawa, at its third edition in 2024, joins the series of events inspired by the Moon and has become a highlight of early autumn in Tokyo.
Taking place September 13 - 29 in 2024, the event will liven up the streets of Shimokitazawa, Tokyo's hip district known for individual fashions, live music venues, and fresh artistic vibe.

The event will feature the Museum of the Moon, an impressive lunar installation measuring 7 meters in diameter by the internationally acclaimed artist Luke Jerram.

In Japan, the Moon is associated with rabbits. That is why Amanda Parer's rabbit-themed "Intrude" installation is another highlight that fans of whimsical art shouldn't miss.

"Elysian Arcs" by Atelier Sisu (Australia) is a new artwork featured this year for the first time in Japan, evoking the image of a moonbow. This installation can be viewed in the parking lot adjacent to BONUS TRACK.
By walking through the artwork, visitors will have not only their vision stimulated but also their sense of touch and spatial awareness, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in a fantastical environment.
The 2024 edition will feature many other new art pieces and displays and it's worth visiting all the venues to check them out.

Participating establishments and shops will offer limited edition menus, events, and exhibitions. There will also be a moon-viewing stamp rally where participants can collect NFT digital art.
