New international security checkpoint opened at Kansai International Airport Terminal 1!

Kansai International Airport Terminal 1 is currently undergoing renovation work. The area that has been expanded this time is the international security check area on the 4th floor of Terminal 1. The central part has opened first. The area is now larger than before, allowing customers to pass through security more smoothly.

The international commercial area is currently under construction, and the surrounding stores are also scheduled to be renovated. Security checks will be more efficient than when operations were previously divided between the north and south.

At the grand opening in spring 2025, the security check area will be 1.8 times larger than before, and the number of lanes will be increased to 18. This will increase security check processing capacity from 4,500 people/hour to 6,000 people/hour! The new international security area will be able to smoothly handle tourists from all over the world who will be visiting for the World Expo in 2025.

In addition, we will be installing new smart lanes to make the inspection process faster and more convenient. We will continue to improve airport services and develop airport facilities that provide passengers with safety and peace of mind.
