What kind of place is Yumura Onsen?

Yumura Onsen wins double awards in the Kansai area's beautiful skin category and the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Award at the 2024 Hot Spring General Election!
Yumura Onsen is a hot spring resort located in the northwest of Hyogo Prefecture, in the San'in region on the Sea of Nihon Sea side. It is said to have been discovered by Jikaku Daishi about 1,200 years ago. It is famous for its 98 degree hot spring water called "Arayu," and making hot spring eggs here is a tourist attraction.
The hot spring is a sodium chloride sulfate bicarbonate spring, and is weakly alkaline. It is gentle on the skin, and after bathing, you will feel warm from the inside out. It is effective for neuralgia, muscle pain, poor circulation, fatigue recovery, and skin problems.
There is a foot bath along the Haruki River that runs through the center of the hot spring town. You can warm your feet while taking in the river view. There are also natural spots nearby, such as waterfalls and valleys, where you can enjoy beautiful scenery throughout the seasons.
Yumura Onsen is known for its warm atmosphere and abundant nature, making it the perfect place for relaxation and sightseeing.

What is Onsen Musume?
This is an interdisciplinary project in which characters based on hot springs from all over Japan and the voice actors who voice them carry out "idol activities" to bring smiles and healing to people through song and dance, in order to enliven hot spring resorts all over the country.
This time, Yumura Chiyo, a character from the local Yumura Onsen, has been added to the Onsen Musume. Yumura Chiyo from Yumura Onsen is the 111th Onsen Musume. Her voice actress, Takagi Miyu, made her debut in 2014. There is also a handprint of Takagi Miyu in front of the stepping stones on the Arayu Promenade.

There are plenty of special experiences you can only have at Yumura Onsen!

Yumura Onsen is a hot spring resort that is full of attractions, including not only the skin-beautifying waters, but also layered stamps, making hot spring eggs, and finding cute hidden hearts. Why not spend a relaxing time here and enjoy the experiences that can only be had here?
We are a voluntary tourism organization that promotes the attractions of the northern part of Kinki, including Tamba, Tajima, Tango, and Wakasa. The flavors of Northern Kinki are not limited to crab, a representative winter sea delicacy, but also include oysters, yellowtail, and pufferfish, as well as cockles, rock oysters, and white squid in the summer, and mountain flavors such as Tamba chestnuts, Tamba black beans, and the summer fruit, sand dune melon. This is an area where you can enjoy gourmet food all year round. I would be delighted to visit the vast northern Kinki region many times and provide information on railway journeys.
