Tokyo Mega Illumi Outdoor Xmas Week: Sky Lanterns, Lights and More
Release sky lanterns amid dazzling illuminations, enjoy bonfires, food, a sky bungee and performances at Outdoor Xmas Week, Tokyo Mega Illumi this December.
Outdoor Xmas Week at Tokyo Mega Illumination

This December, Tokyo’s night sky will glow with floating lanterns as Tokyo Mega Illumi transforms Oi Racecourse into a winter wonderland for Outdoor Xmas Week, a limited-run festival that pairs hundreds of drifting LED lanterns with spectacular ground-based illuminations and hands-on outdoor activities.
Running from December 13 through December 23, 2025, the event offers a mix of lantern-led magic, panoramic light installations, and cozy camp-style experiences beneath a canopy of on-site lighting.

The program swaps the usual indoor holiday routine for a magical urban escape where thousands of twinkling installations meet the warmth of bonfires and the playful spirit of camping.
The festival is designed as a slightly wild, interactive Christmas celebration that invites families, couples, and outdoor fans to create luminous memories in the heart of the city.
Event Highlights
Sky Lantern Releases: A floating spectacle

On four weekend evenings (Dec. 13, 14, 20 and 21), participants can decorate and release large LED sky lanterns around the Mega Tree, sending personal wishes and hand-drawn artwork into a gently glowing scene.
The flame-free lanterns are safe for children and can be taken home after the event; they may also remain afloat for days as enchanting ornaments.

Advance tickets are 4,500 yen per lantern (take-home allowed); same-day purchases are 5,800 yen. A special stage release with guest voice actors is scheduled for the evening of Sunday, Dec. 21, creating a theatrical finale as lanterns drift into the illuminated sky.
Please note that in order to participate in the sky lantern event you need to purchase a separate event ticket available here. (Japanese)
Mega Sky Bungee: Aerial thrills above the lights

The trampoline-style Sky Bungee returns in an expanded four-unit mega setup to shorten lines and welcome adults (weight limit 80 kg).
Jumpers can spin and soar, experiencing near-weightlessness while gazing over the glowing panorama below—part adrenaline rush, part celestial ride.
Bonfire and Roasting Area: Warmth and seasonal treats

A supervised bonfire zone offers a rustic island of warmth amid the lights. Visitors can roast oversized mega marshmallows, assemble s’mores, and enjoy fire-side flavors specially sold for the event—simple pleasures that feel especially magical under the illuminated night.
Outdoor Market and Vehicle Displays: Craft and camper culture

Produced by VAMCAMP JAPAN, the outdoor market (Dec. 16–23) features camper vehicle displays, artisan stalls, and hands-on workshops.
Against the glittering backdrop, guests can personalize patches, craft cassette-tape keychains, and take home bespoke keepsakes as holiday mementos. The outdoor market will run from December 16 to 23.
Curated Food Trucks: Seasonal comfort fare

About eight kitchen cars will serve warming winter favorites throughout the festival: craft beer and smoked plates, hearty soups and pasta, toasted-marshmallow hot cocoa, and organic cotton candy—comforting bites for chilly nights outdoors.
Yuru Camp△ Collaboration: Fan-focused photo moments

A custom camper van adorned with new illustrations from Yuru Camp△ Season 3 will be on display for the entire run, alongside life-size character panels and limited merchandise sold on selected days—an inviting photo opportunity for fans and families.
The Vehicle exhibition will be from December 13 - 23 and sales will take place on 12/13 - 14, 19 - 21, and 23.
Outdoor × Voice-Actor Stage Program: Camp-style entertainment

On Dec. 21, voice actors Emi Nitta and Yuna will host a relaxed, camp-styled talk show featuring audience interaction, camp quizzes and stories. The segment will culminate in a musical lantern release with the performers. Limited signed goods and exclusive photo items will be available at the event.
