Oze National Park was established on August 30, 2007. It is a naturally rich spot that includes Ozegahara, one of the largest high-altitude marshes in Honshu, Ozenuma, which was formed by the damming of a river, Mt. Hiuchigatake, the highest peak north of Tohoku , and Mt. Mount Shibutsu , where numerous Takayama plants bloom.

This area offers views of Mount Hiuchigatake, one of the 100 famous mountains Tohoku of Tohoku, and the beautiful Oze Lake. In early summer, visitors are greeted by the white spikes of cotton grass that resemble dandelion fluff, followed by the vibrant yellow clusters of day lilies that stand out against the lush greenery of Oze. Mount Hiuchigatake reflected in the Oze Lake is also a highlight.

Ozegahara area

The largest marshland in Honshu. The breathtaking scenery of the vast marshland, skunk cabbage, and beautiful mountains, which are the subject of the famous song "Summer Memories," is breathtaking. You can enjoy a variety of Takayama plants in the marshland throughout the seasons.
