How to access Kaitaku-sha

Kaitaku-sha is located in a rural village with no public transportation, so we recommend coming by car. Please rent a car to get here. There is a spacious parking lot in front of the garden, making it easy to access by car.

The fishing boat cruising and fishing tour is a beginner-friendly and family-friendly marine experience where you can explore the seas with fishermen on a small fishing boat (recreational fishing boat), enjoy the beautiful scenery of Ainan from the boat, and also enjoy fishing from the water.

For many people, simply boarding a fishing boat is an extraordinary experience. A fishing boat speeding across the sea is truly impressive! Because it's a small fishing boat with only a few people on board, you can share invaluable time playing and learning about the sea together.

*The departure and return port is a quiet seaside area about a 15-minute drive from Kaitaku-sha. We ask that customers arrange their own transportation. If desired, the owner will lead the way in their car to guide you to the port.

The guide and instructor is a young fisherman who is a fellow migrant from the Kaitaku-sha owner. He is a kind-hearted "sea fisherman" who will guide you around the Uwa Sea and teach you how to fish in an easy-to-understand and thorough manner, even if you are a complete beginner with no experience in sea fishing. In the off-season, he also goes out into the foothills and sets traps to catch deer and wild boars, making him a "mountain hunter."

To the "Blue Grotto" known only to local fishermen.

We'll explore the sea in a fishing boat and visit the "Blue Grotto," a place named by local fishermen. This is a hidden gem not found in tourist guidebooks. It's a mystical space brimming with energy, created by nature itself. Since only small fishing boats can reach the depths of the cave, it will be a memorable and precious experience.

You can even experience preparing and eating the fish you catch yourself!

Even complete beginners with no sea fishing experience are welcome! Our guides and instructors, all experienced fishermen, will carefully teach you how to fish. You might even see a big smile on your face as you catch your first fish!

The main fish you can catch are bottom-dwelling fish such as the red grouper (akaba)... These fish are delicious when prepared as sashimi, simmered dishes, etc. If you wish, you can use the kitchen at Kaitaku-sha and cook together with the owner's family. You can spend a special time preparing the fish you caught yourself and giving thanks for the bounty of the sea.

You can also enjoy outdoor cooking!

Kaitaku-sha is basically a lodging facility that offers accommodation and meals separately, but we can also provide an optional "Ainan Gibier & Seasonal Seafood BBQ Set".

Regarding ingredients, we source high-quality venison and wild boar meat from Ainan Gibier. Since the meat is processed and managed safely for consumption, even those who are trying gibier for the first time can enjoy it with peace of mind. Of course, our vegetables and seafood are also fresh and locally sourced from Ainan, Ehime Prefecture.

The "Ainan Gibier & Seasonal Seafood BBQ Set" includes all the necessary BBQ equipment and ingredients (deer and wild boar meat, vegetables, seafood, and rice balls). Enjoy the bounty of Ainan's mountains and sea grilled over charcoal.
