Shibuya's Miyashita Park is bringing a modern twist to traditional Japanese festival culture up to its rooftop park from September 26 to 27, 2026.

The Shibuya Miyashita Park Bon Dance event pairs the park's iconic open-air rooftop atmosphere with a vibrant program hosted by the Meiji-dori Miyashita Park Shopping District Association.

The event aims to bridge local Shibuya businesses, everyday visitors, and international tourists through the shared joy of a neighborhood festival (matsuri).

A Genre-Defying Fusion of Bon-Dance and Music

The rooftop lawn area will transform into a lively dance floor designed to wrap up the summer season with high energy.

The program breaks traditional boundaries, featuring authentic Japanese Bon Odori folk dancing mixed seamlessly with contemporary live performances and electronic dance music sets spun by live DJs.

The event is curated to be a casual, welcoming experience where anyone, regardless of background, can step into the circle and dance.

Several permanent tenants from RAYARD MIYASHITA PARK will also exit their storefronts to set up special outdoor pop-up stalls in the market area.
