One of the highlights of the ALL OF EVANGELION exhibition is the curated selection of approximately 270 original cel artworks chosen from over 10,000 existing archived materials.
When the TV anime aired in 1995, animation production still heavily relied on the cel animationtechnique. Characters and objects were painted stroke by stroke on transparent sheets, with components like eyes and mouths created separately to produce continuous, fluid movement.
Viewing these materials up close reveals subtle details easily missed on screen, offering early Neon Genesis Evangelion fans an extraordinarily valuable experience.
Character and EVA Concept Art

Detailed concept art used during the production of the TV anime Neon Genesis Evangelion will also be displayed at the venue.
Serving as the blueprints of the series, these materials reveal the trial-and-error process behind the scenes. Visitors can see firsthand how the story came to life.
In addition, the exhibition features rare voice actor audition tapes, storyboards, and teaser trailers narrated by Misato Katsuragi—offering a look back at the anime’s production through both sound and vision.
Exhibition content may vary slightly depending on the venue
