Access to Universal Studios Japan in Osaka

The nearest train stop to Universal Studios Japan is JR Universal City Station.
From Osaka Station, take the Osaka Loop Line (Osaka Kanjosen) headed towards Nishikujo and Tennnoji. Then switch to the JR Sakurajima Line (Yumesaki Line) at Nishikujo Station and get off at Universal City Station. It is a five-minute walk to the park entrance.
The train ride takes about 15 minutes from Osaka and costs 180 yen.

Universal Studios Japan Express Passes
The Express Pass is valid in combination with a 1-Day Studio Pass.
This optional ticket can be purchased to reduce the waiting time for certain attractions. Please note that visitors cannot enter the park with only an Express Pass.
There are two types of Express Passes: year-round and limited-time. The Year-Round Pass is for a set of multiple attractions, while the Limited-Time Pass is valid for limited-duration events.

Super Nintendo World™: Attractions and Highlights

Universal Studios Japan’s newest area officially opened to visitors in 2021, and entering it is literally like stepping into the world of an iconic Nintendo game. The whole area is a real-life recreation of Mushroom Kingdom, complete with colorful characters, games and attractions!
These include real-life Mario Kart™ racing in famed courses from the games, as well as Yoshi’s Adventure, which takes visitors on a wild ride on the beloved green dino. Visitors can also collect keys, punch blocks, enjoy adorable food at themed restaurants, and shop for an incredible range of exclusive Nintendo merchandise!

The most popular attraction in the area is Mario Kart: Koopa's Challenge™. It uses a four-seater go-kart based on the iconic game popular worldwide.
Employing the latest technology, the ride creates a world that looks straight out of the Super Mario game series.
Hitting Brick Blocks and Collecting Coins

In the Super Mario games, characters head towards a goal while striking blocks (some of which have question marks) to collect coins and items along the way. There will be various brick blocks in the Super Nintendo World, too!

Players are required to don a Power-up Band to collect coins in Super Nintendo World. There are six types of bands, each costing 3,200 yen after tax. Choose your favorite game character and dive into the adventure.

Players can try the Key Challenge while collecting coins and digital stamps by downloading the USJ app and aligning it to the Power-up Band.
This area is filled with gadgets and gimmicks that appeal to both children and grown-ups.
Limited-Time Events in 2024 and Beyond
USJ regularly hosts time-limited events that are a hit among park-goers.
Universal Cool Japan 2024
For those who love the world of anime, manga and Japanese video games, this expansive event is sure to be a treat. Universal Cool Japan aims to celebrate Japanese popular entertainment, and this year will focus on beloved media franchises My Hero Academia, Detective Conan and Monster Hunter.
Universal Cool Japan will feature 3 main events within its 2024 lineup: Detective Conan: The World, My Hero Academia: The Real 4D, and Monster Hunter USJ Festival.
1. Detective Conan: The World

Perhaps Japan’s most beloved fictional detective, visitors will have the opportunity enter the mystery-filled world of the iconic Conan.
The event is set to be a massively immersive one, and features 4 main attractions - Detective Conan: The Escape, Detective Conan x Hollywood Dream - The Ride: Private Jet Pandemonium and Detective Conan Mystery Restaurant.
Detective Conan: The Escape is an action packed, fully immersive escape room experience, featuring multiple members from the cast of the hit series. Participants will need to solve puzzles in order to diffuse a bomb strapped to one of the series’ characters, all with the help of Conan and co. This elevated escape room experience is sure to satisfy park goers’ thirst for both action and suspense.

Detective Conan x Hollywood Dream - The Ride: Private Jet Pandemonium will see the Hollywood Dream rollercoaster take on an exhilarating Conan-themed new narrative and setting. This new story throws its passengers into a chaotic mid-air crisis, as Conan and Kid the Phantom fight to save the private jet they’re flying on from collision.

Combining gourmet cuisine, music and suspense, the Detective Conan Mystery Restaurant will immerse its guests in a truly unique dining experience. It will serve as the stage where a new mystery unfolds, involving the unveiling of a legendary violin. A romantic drama will also play out between 3 of the series’ most beloved characters. Diners are invited to aid Heiji and Kazuha in solving a tantalizing new enigma amid this combined dining/live theatre experience.
Fans of the series definitely shouldn’t miss out on this truly unique chance to dive into the universe of Detective Conan at USJ in 2024!

2. My Hero Academia: The Real 4D

Join Deku, Bakugo, Ochaco, and Todoroki in a wildly immersive 4D attraction straight out of the world of My Hero Academia!
The experience features an original storyline that will thrust park goers into an epic battle involving Deku and his comrades, as they use their quirks to protect the audience at a rock concert from fearsome villains! Effects such as water, vibrations and stunning visuals are sure to aid in fully immersing the audience within this nail biting adventure!

3. Monster Hunter USJ Festival

In honor of the 20th anniversary of Monster Hunter, Universal Studios Japan will be hosting a festival dedicated entirely to the legendary video game franchise.
A beloved attraction returns to the park in celebration of the anniversary, and visitors will once again have the chance to experience Monster Hunter Icebourne XR WALK. This immersive VR attraction will literally plunge participants into a real-life version of the game, letting them become master hunters amid the expansive world of Icebourne.
Visitors will also have the chance to get a culinary experience of the world of Monster Hunter, as the Seliana Dining Room will be offering a vast range of themed meals and treats inspired by the hit series!

Universal Easter Celebration 2024

The park’s 2024 Easter event will be filled to the brim with cuteness, and will draw particular inspiration from the concept of ‘kawaii’.
Universal Wonderland, home to beloved characters such as Elmo, Snoopy and Hello Kitty, will host the adorable parade and street show Go Go Easter March. Eggs and bunnies will be abundant, and the park’s iconic characters will be decked out in colorful costumes just in time for Easter!

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba XR Ride - Mugen Train Dream Riders

Become completely immersed in the world of mega hit manga/anime Demon Slayer! Fans wishing to enter into the action-packed world of Tanjiro and Nezuko will now have the chance to via an incredible attraction that truly does the excitement of the series justice.
Passengers have been mysteriously disappearing from aboard a train bound from Naniwa Station. As beloved characters such as Tanjiro investigate, they find themselves in an epic showdown at high speed - with park goers also along for the ride!
This epic XR attraction features the combination of VR technology and the thrill of a real-life high speed rollercoaster! Experience augmented reality at its most intense and exhilarating, as you enter the Taisho era setting of one of Japan’s most iconic modern-day hit series.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba x Hollywood Dream - The Ride

Hollywood Dream and Demon Slayer collaborate to give thrill seekers the chance to ride a fully Demon Slayer themed rollercoaster!
The attraction is divided into 2 parts - the first will feature Tanjiro and Rengoku, and the second will involve an even bigger cast, consisting of Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke and Nezuko!

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Wisteria Dining Hall

As honorary members of the Demon Slayer Corps, park goers will now be permitted to enter their main dining hall! The hall’s traditional Taisho-era themed interior is sure to charm its guests, as will encounters with characters from the hit series.
On the menu are Japanese-style themed dishes, and even Taisho era sweets! Meals are beautifully presented, and promise to be an absolute delight for those who enjoy Japanese cuisine.

NO LIMIT Parade

Characters from the worlds of Super Mario and Pokemon will now be joining the colorful and exciting NO LIMIT Parade, which also features beloved characters such as Hello Kitty, Snoopy, Minions, Elmo, and the Cookie Monster!

A massive highlight of the NO LIMIT! Parade is the Nintendo segment, where legendary characters Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Toad, Bowser, and Princess Peach speed down the Rainbow Road in a Mario Kart™ race brought to life! The show also features dancing Bowsers and other colorful characters from the world of Nintendo.
Experience insanely colorful floats, upbeat music, and energetic dancing during USJ’s extravagant outdoor event! The parade is set to wrap up this April, so be sure not to miss out on the spectacle!
