Set in the historical heart of Kyoto, this magical concert has attracted over 300,000 visitors in its life. This popular event is making a comeback after four years and we are happy to see its return!

The concert was created by Kyoto Shimbun in 1989 as part of a project that celebrated the 1200th anniversary of Kyoto's founding. Due to the capital being moved to Tokyo and the devastating effects of the war, the citizens of Kyoto started to reconstruct the city with a great passion for their culture, history, and life. This concert series is one of these projects that came to define Kyoto as a cultural city.
