What is Gyoda Hana Chozu Week?

Gyoda Hana Chozui is a limited time event held during the following period.

From the 1st to the 14th of every month *However, in January and November, the event is held from the 15th to the last day of the month, and is closed in July and August.

If you are coming to Gyoda City by train (use Gyoda City Station)

◆When using the Joetsu Shinkansen

Transfer to Chichibu Railway from Kumagaya Station and head towards Hanyu. Get off at Gyoda-shi station on the way. From there, walk to Gyoda Hachiman Shrine in less than 10 minutes. It's about a 15 minute walk from the station to Oshi Castle.

◆When using Chichibu Railway

From the Chichibu area, take the train bound for Hanyu and get off at Gyoda-shi station. From the Hanyu direction, take the train bound for Kumagaya and get off at Gyoda-shi station.

If you are coming to Gyoda City by train (use Gyoda Station)

If using the JR Takasaki Line, please get off at Gyoda Station. It's a long walk from Gyoda Station to the Hana Temizu venue, so you can take the sightseeing loop bus or rent a bicycle at the tourist information center.

If you are coming to Gyoda City by car

Tohoku Expressway is approximately 25-30 minutes from Kazo Interchange or Hanyu Interchange. About 30 minutes from the Higashi-Matsuyama or Hanazono Interchange on the Kanetsu Expressway (E17). Ken-O Expressway is about 50-60 minutes from Okegawa Kano Interchange or Shiraoka Shobu Interchange.

In October 2020, "Gyoda Hana Chozui Week" began with the desire to provide hospitality to visitors from the entire region. Fresh flowers are placed in large and small pots, adding beauty and color to the town of Gyoda.

Recommended spots for Hanachozu

1. Gyoda Hachiman Shrine

This is the birthplace of Gyoda Hana Temizu. Gyoda Hachiman Shrine is a venerable shrine that is said to be the ``Shin no Miya''. There are 6 places exhibiting flower chozui, but the one at ``Suikinkutsu'' is the most popular spot.

2. Oshiroki

There are two large flower basins in Oshi Castle, one at the east gate and one in front of the bell tower. Among them, it is a good idea to take a picture of Hana Chemizu and the castle together from the east gate.

3. Stroll around the tourist product center ♪ Gyoda

A large pot is also on display here. You can also take a toilet break. We have all the souvenirs from Gyoda City.

4.Maetama Shrine and Saitama Tumulus Group

Although it is approximately 3 kilometers away from the center of Gyoda City, this area also exhibits flower hand water. First of all, Maetama Shrine, which is also famous for cats, has a large flower water fountain. You can also find Hana Chozui at Sakitama Terrace Tourist Products Center and Haniwa no Yakata in Sakitama Tumulus Park.
