What is moss phlox?

Every year from mid-April to early May, pink, white, and pale blue moss phlox blooms all over the gently sloping hill, allowing you to enjoy the spectacular pink scenery.

The area where moss phlox is planted is one of the largest in the Kanto region, and a variety of colorful moss phlox are planted. The planted area is approximately 17,600m2, with 10 varieties and over 400,000 plants.

Access to Hitsujiyama Park (Chichibu) by train

Directions from Seibu Chichibu Station: Get off at Yokose Station and walk 20 minutes.

Directions from Chichibu Railway: Get off at Ohanabatake Station (Shibazakura Station) on the Chichibu Railway and walk for about 20 minutes.

How to enjoy moss phlox and highlights

Moss phlox hill The slopes of Hitsujiyama Hill, at the foot of Mt. Buko (1,304 m), which is said to be the symbol of Chichibu, are used to combine moss phlox of various colors, creating a literal ``patchwork of flowers.'' . Expansion and planting work is carried out every year, and the area has expanded to approximately 17,600 square meters, with over 400,000 plants of 10 species (Phlox family, Phlocus family), including pink, white, and purple.
