What are good things and good experiences? There are many characteristics such as having a story to tell, overflowing with the thoughts of the creator, having a history, and being loved by the locals. Have you ever come across a special thing or experience that made you want to tell someone about it? And as a result of telling, someone new leads to something. We think that's what "good" is all about. In order to deliver such encounters to our customers, we discover Hyogo's good things based on the concept of "talk, communicate, and connect", and provide information that will shorten the emotional distance between customers and the region of Hyogo Prefecture.

A mountaintop tourist spot where you can enjoy herbs and flowers throughout the seasons

To get to the Kobe Nunobiki Herb Garden/Ropeway on the mountain, head to Herb Garden Base Station, which is about a 5-minute walk from either Shin-Kobe Station on the Kobe Municipal Subway/Sanyo Shinkansen or the City Loop Kobe Nunobiki Herb Garden/Ropeway bus stop. From here, board the ropeway to Kaze no Oka Intermediate Station or Herb Garden Summit Station on the mountain. If you have a round-trip ticket, you can go back and forth between the intermediate station and the summit station as many times as you like, but if it's your first time, head to the summit station first. A recommended itinerary is to start from the summit, stroll through the garden and head to the intermediate station, then take the ropeway down to the base station.

One of the highlights of the Kobe Nunobiki Herb Garden/Ropeway is the ropeway ride. You can see the Kobe cityscape below, and on a clear day you can even see the ocean.

You can also see Nunobiki Falls, a popular Kobe tourist spot.
The ride from the base station to the summit station, passing through the intermediate station, takes about 10 minutes. When you get off at the summit station, which is about 400 meters above sea level, you will be greeted by an observation rest house modeled after the ancient German castle "Wartburg Castle."

The observation plaza, lined with rest houses and parasols, is home to a variety of shops where you can enjoy dining and shopping, including the restaurant "The Herb Dining," the shop "Herbal Market," and the Kobe confectionery factory "HONEY DEW," as well as the "Herb Marche," where you can enjoy original herb sausages, German beer, and wine for a limited time only.

If you go further into the Observation Plaza, you will notice the Rose Symphonic Garden, where about 60 varieties of English roses bloom. Many people take photos with the roses in the background, making it one of the most popular photo spots in the garden.

After enjoying the rose garden, dining, and shopping on the mountain, head to Nakama Station, stopping off at various themed gardens along the way.

There are many edible herbs used in cooking, so you may be able to find a variety you're familiar with. Take your time to look around and see what kinds of herbs are available while enjoying the aroma.

Beyond the Forest Path and Lavender Garden is the Glass House, where mainly tropical plants are planted.

For those who want to enjoy a meal while taking in the view, we recommend the cafe lounge/terrace "The Veranda Kobe" inside the Glass House. There is a luxurious cafe lounge on the second floor and an open terrace on the first floor, so you can choose according to your needs.

After strolling through the Four Seasons Garden, Waterfall Patio, and Oriental Garden, why not finish off by relaxing in the Wind Hill Area?

There are also hammocks set up in the Kaze no Oka Grass Square, so you can enjoy sunbathing while swaying back and forth. There are also many flowers blooming in the Kaze no Oka Flower Garden, so it's a great place to take commemorative photos in front of the flower beds.

Make your own aroma product with your favorite scent!

At Kobe Nunobiki Herb Garden/Ropeway, you can enjoy colorful flowers and herbs, as well as the spectacular view from the top of the mountain. If you want to enjoy the herb garden even more, we recommend the experience program.

This is an experience menu available at the aroma studio on the first floor of Yamagami no Mori Hall, and this time I tried the "Nail Fragrance" (1,800 yen).

It's very easy to make. First, choose your favorite scent from five types of aroma oil. You can choose from frankincense, rose absolute, neroli, jasmine absolute, and chamomile. Remove the cap of the aroma oil and gently fan it with your hands to check the scent and decide which one to use.

Once you've decided on the scent, you can put dried herbs and flowers into the bottle provided. There are 12 types available, including rosemary, lavender, marigold, rosehip & hibiscus, and hydrangea, so you can combine colors and shapes to create your own scent.

Put 4 drops of the aroma oil you chose into the bottle containing the dried herbs or flowers, then pour in the special liquid. Close the lid and your nail fragrance is ready in no time!

The expiration date is about one month. It's the perfect memento of your trip!
There was a wide variety of scents, dried herbs, and dried flowers, so choosing was a lot of fun. There were also other experience menus such as room sprays, moist potpourri, and aroma soaps. The experience takes about 20 to 40 minutes, so if you're interested, please give it a try.
