Why can Genji-koh see so much of the ocean?

Genji-koh is located at the tip of a peninsula called Chita Peninsula within Japan's Aichi Prefecture. The red dot on this map is Genji-koh. Among this peninsula, it is especially located along the coast, so you can see the sea called Ise Bay in front of you, as well as the Ise-Shima Peninsula, Kamishima, and Toshijima on the opposite shore.

Open-air bath above the clouds

On the top floor of Genji-koh, there is an ``outdoor bath above the clouds.'' You can see the Ichimen Sea and the Ise-Shima Peninsula, Kamishima Island, and Toshijima Island in the distance. This bath is called ``Misogi no Yu'' because it faces the direction of Ise Grand Shrine. Regarding purification, there is no indoor bath for purifying your body. We recommend that you warm yourself up in the sauna by pouring hot water over your body before entering the sauna. The time when the sun sets is truly beautiful.

This open-air bath above the clouds does not require reservations, and day-trippers are welcome. It costs 1,650 yen per adult (towel and bath towel included), and there are two shifts: 11:00 to 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Please note that we may be closed during busy periods or on closed days, so if you are interested, please call Genji-koh. All rooms have ocean views!

All guest rooms at Genji-koh face the sea. If you stay here, you will definitely be able to enjoy a relaxing view of the ocean from your room! Some people choose to stay on the upper floors because they think that the best views are from the upper floors, but I also like the view from the lower floors. This is because while the upper floors offer a magnificent view of the ocean, the lower floors feel more like the ocean right in front of you.

There is a two-lane road between Genji-koh and the sea. However, as you can see in this photo, you can't see the road at all from the guest room, so the fact that you can actually see the ocean right in front of you is also a highly recommended point.

Approximately half of Genji-koh's restaurant ``Miobetsu'' has an ocean view. During the dinner season, which starts at 6pm, from spring to autumn when the sun sets late, you can enjoy your meal while enjoying the scenery as the sun sets and night falls. In addition, you can enjoy a view of the clear sky and sea during a refreshing breakfast all year round.

However, please note that the dinner and breakfast venues may have seats that do not have a view of the sea or other venues.
