Ninagawa Mika with EiM: Lights of the Beyond, Shadows of This World
Ninagawa Mika with EiM: Lights of the Beyond, Shadows of This World is a highly awaited art event to be held in Kyoto in early 2025.
In this exhibition, photography artist Mika Ninagawa collaborates with the creative team called EiM (Eternity in a Moment), composed of experts from various fields, to present special video installations and three-dimensional displays.
The venue will be the new Higashiyama Cube at the Kyoto City Kyocera Museum of Art. It will be the largest exhibition of Mika Ninagawa held in western Japan to date.
The highlights of the exhibition include a "picture scroll" style display that allows visitors to experience ten stories inspired by the streets of Kyoto.
This picture scroll is structured around themes of global chaos and instability, as well as dialogue with oneself, providing an opportunity to contemplate "Well-being."
Mika Ninagawa has created numerous works centered on contrasts such as "light and shadow" and "reality and fiction," but this exhibition goes further, allowing viewers to experience an inner journey through the artworks.
Each visitor will become the protagonist of the exhibition's story, spending valuable time exploring dialogue with themselves and discovering new perspectives while being touched by Mika Ninagawa's thoughts.
