"Yomenya Pietro" opened in Tenjin, Fukuoka City on December 9, 1980. This small pasta restaurant started with just six people and served freshly boiled noodles combined with Japanese ingredients such as cod roe, mustard greens, and natto. At the time, when the only spaghetti options were meat sauce and Neapolitan, Pietro's spaghetti became popular among young women and the restaurant soon had long lines of customers.
