What is Father's Day?
In Japan, the third Sunday in June is called "Father's Day." It is a day to thank fathers for their hard work.
Father's Day originated in the United States in the 1900s. It is said to have started when a woman living in Washington State, Mrs. Dot, honored her father who had raised her alone by having a service held in June, the month of his birth. It is said to have been introduced to Japan around 1955.
Red carnations are the standard for Mother's Day. Yellow roses are the main gift for Father's Day. Other standard gifts include alcohol such as local sake or beer, mugs or tumblers to drink them in, and snacks to go with the alcohol.
Genji-koh presents picture scrolls
Genji-koh has prepared a mini event. Please inform the front desk counter when checking in or during your stay. We will give you a mini picture scroll. When you remove the leather strap and unfold it, you will find a message card saying "Thank you for everything." We would be so happy if it makes your hard-working father happy, even just a little.
Father's Day event
In addition to this picture scroll, we will also be holding a mini event related to fathers called "Father's Day Quiz" on the 16th and 17th. Participants will also receive a small gift.
Say "Thank You" to Dad
Dads are always working hard. Because it's something we take for granted, we may not realize how amazing they are. But the reason their backs look so dependable is because they always work hard for their families. Let's tell dads that we're grateful.
Through the deep and tranquil world of incense that reminds us of the hospitality and elegance of scent, Genji-koh is an inn that reminds you of the elegance of the era of The Tale of Genji. Our inn is Japan's first Japanese-style inn with a scent-themed theme. Awakening the forgotten peace of mind. You can feel the comfort of incense everywhere in your room and throughout the hotel.
