[Undercover Report] A very satisfying two-day stay at Seisenryo in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, on the southern foot of Mt. Yatsugatake

Latest update :

Hello everyone! My name is Biu.

He has been dispatched to Hokuto City for one year as part of the Thai government's volunteer dispatch program " Friends from Thailand ."

While living in Hokuto City, I am spreading the charm of Hokuto.

This time, I would like to introduce the various experiences I had during my two-day, one-night stay at Seisenryo, a tourist facility surrounded by forests and pastures in the Kiyosato Plateau in Hokuto City, on the southern foot of Mt. Yatsugatake.

For more information on Seisen Ryoku, please click here.

First, check in

Check-in from 14:00

The spacious lobby and the smiling faces of the staff are impressive.

Please feel free to bring any necessary amenities such as toothbrushes, cotton swabs, and shower caps to your room.

There is a large fireplace in the center of the lobby, which is lit every day.

A little further into the lobby is the relaxation space. You can enjoy tea and coffee for free. What a nice service. The space is filled with toys, stuffed animals, books, and other items for children to enjoy. It seems like a great place to relax with your children.

Now, let's go into the room.

We were so excited to see how spacious the room was! The room we stayed in was a Western-style room . The ceiling was very high and it felt open. There was a sofa in the middle of the room, and we could enjoy the view of the Kiyosato Plateau from the large balcony, so we could relax.

It would be great to come and stay on a nice day.

There is a large fireplace in the room. You can enjoy roasting marshmallows and sweet potatoes in this fireplace. It's great to be able to enjoy various things in a warm room, especially in winter.

The long-awaited dinner time

The dinner venue was a lovely open space with high ceilings, and the view from there was amazing.

For dinner, guests can choose one main dish from beef, pork, or fish, and side dishes and desserts are served buffet style.

I chose "Sautéed Fujizakura Pork with Truffle Sauce."

It was very soft, flavorful, and delicious! It was even better when eaten with vegetables from Hokuto City. All the dishes made with fresh ingredients were delicious, and I ate everything, even the dessert. It was a very satisfying dinner.

A delightful large bath

Seisen Ryokan has a large public bath. Please bring a towel from your room.

There is also a washing area equipped with soap, shampoo, and conditioner, and an open-air bath. Time to relax in the warm bath.

I was able to sleep soundly that night.

Very satisfying breakfast

The meal will be served in the same venue as dinner. The morning view from the window will make you feel refreshed.

Breakfast is buffet style, with a wide variety of Japanese and Western dishes, all of which are delicious.

I had my favorite salmon. The scrambled eggs, made with specially selected eggs, were also delicious.Of course, the salads are fresh and delicious. The menu includes a variety of dishes made with Jersey milk from the Jersey cows raised at Seisen Ryoku. Everything is delicious and makes you feel happy.

Various Activities Paul Rusch Memorial Museum

Visit the Paul Rusch Memorial Museum to learn about the history of Dr. Paul Rusch, an American who contributed to the development of Kiyosato . This is a place where you can learn about Dr. Paul Rusch and the history of American football that Paul Rusch introduced to Japan. In the back is the mansion where Paul Rusch once lived. History buffs will love it. There is also English notation, so foreigners can enjoy it too.

Yamanashi Prefectural Yatsugatake Nature Experience Center

You can learn while enjoying the nature of Kiyosato through hiking, bird watching, etc. We participated in hiking. We listened to the sounds of nature and collected fallen leaves. It was a time to spend quietly on our own. Facing nature made me feel very relaxed.

This is the Yamane Museum.

The Yamane Museum is just a short walk away. There are various exhibits related to Yamane. The Yamane-themed goods are also very cute!

A special encounter with Jersey cows

This time, we were given special permission to enter a ranch where Jersey cows are kept!

The friendly Jersey cows will be happy if you pet them.

Jersey milk is used to make ice cream and yogurt.

Seisenryo jersey hat

The richest soft serve ice cream in Hokuto City is here. I love it. If you come to Kiyosato, you should definitely try it! In addition, they also have freshly baked bread and souvenirs unique to Kiyosato.

A delicious lunch at Seisenryo Restaurant

The extensive menu, including curry and pasta, is all very appealing.

I ordered the "Homemade stewed hamburger steak with seasonal vegetables" and had it with bread. It was very delicious.

The climax of this experience was a delicious meal. I was full! I was very satisfied.

There are many ways to enjoy Seisen-ryo. If you want to enjoy it at a leisurely pace, a day trip may not be enough.

We recommend spending two days and one night relaxing.

Please enjoy nature and food at your leisure in the great outdoors.

This time we went undercover to investigate Seisen Ryokan.

Next time we look forward to!
