Come and try your hand at the "Tosenkyo" game held every day at Genji-koh!

1. What is Tosenkyo?

As mentioned in the overview, the main attraction of the traditional Japanese game "Tosenkyo" is the beauty of throwing fans. You may imagine it as a game played in the tatami rooms of maiko (apprentice geisha), but in fact there are many schools and groups, and it is so popular that Tosenkyo tournaments are even held. Recently, events have been held where people who are playing Tosenkyo for the first time can try it out. At Genji-koh, Tosenkyo is held every day from 8:30 pm in the lobby on the first floor, and many customers have had the opportunity to try it out.

2. Win or lose?

A target is placed in the center and two throwers face each other, taking turns throwing the fan about 10 times, and the one with the highest total score is the winner.

The shapes are made using a "fan," "butterfly," and "pillow," and points are awarded based on the difficulty.

3. Genji-koh experience

As mentioned earlier, Genji-koh holds this event every day from 8:30 p.m.

We try to explain things in English as much as possible so that customers from overseas can experience the experience. (When there are parts that are difficult to express, we use Japanese examples.)
