"Hiroshima River of Love" Project
The "Hiroshima River of Love" project started in 2015. This project is based on a poem that Keiji Nakazawa, the author of "Barefoot Gen," wrote while walking through the Peace Memorial Park from the hospital where he was staying, gazing at the river and thinking of future generations. The song "Hiroshima River of Love" is sung by children at the lantern floating ceremony held on the 6th of August every year, and has been passed down to the next generation.
Chorus: August 6th (Tuesday) 19:15~ Scheduled to be held at the rooftop observation deck

"Letter from Hiroshima" - a special project for the anniversary of the end of the war
"Letter from Hiroshima" is a special project in which limited numbers of original WALLART postcards will be distributed to visitors entering the observation deck from Saturday, August 10th to Sunday, August 18th, 2024, allowing visitors to send "letters" to their loved ones with their "wishes" for 2045, the milestone 100 years since the end of the war.
With the average age of atomic bomb survivors now 85, and the aging of the population, the issue of how to convey the reality of the bombings to the world is becoming an issue. We also hope that the event will provide an opportunity for those of us living in the present day who have no memories of the war to think about what kind of day the "Victory over Japan Day" will be, as it comes again this year.
Project Contents
① After entering the observation deck, choose from 9 different postcard designs and receive them at the "Orizuru Counter" on the 12th floor. ((*One postcard will be distributed per person who purchases a ticket) As there are only 2,500 postcards available, they will be available until they are all gone.)
② Write a letter expressing your feelings in Hiroshima, your wishes for the 100th anniversary of the end of the war, and your thoughts to a loved one.
3) Drop it in the box located at ORIZURU SQUARE on the 12th floor (can be mailed both domestically and internationally)
It has been 79 years since the end of the war in Hiroshima. Through this event, we hope to sow the seeds of our thoughts every year at this time of year, and to weave a bright future that spreads out to the world, one step at a time, no matter where you are or who you are with. Please stop by if you are in Hiroshima.

HIROSHIMA ORIZURU TOWER is a tourist facility that opened in 2016 next to the Atomic Bomb Dome, a world heritage site, offering a space you've never seen or felt before. The breeze blows through the rooftop observation deck, offering views of the Peace Memorial Park, the Atomic Bomb Dome, and on clear days, Mount Misen on Miyajima. At ORIZURU SQUARE on the 12th floor, you can fold a crane using special origami paper and throw it into the 50m-high glass-walled ORIZURU WALL. Also on the first floor, there is a product hall selling locally loved products and a cafe where you can taste ingredients from Hiroshima.
