Majestic Scenery and Panoramic Views

Oishi Kogen prides itself in some of the most picturesque landscapes in the region, with its sprawling suzuki grasslands captivating the heart. Upon reaching the summit, standing at 870-meters above sea level, visitors are greeted with a vast panoramic view that offers an unobstructed view of the surrounding natural beauty. From October to November, the suzuki grass changes color from silver to gold, and the grasslands glistening in the morning and evening sun becomes an ideal location for nature lovers and photographers.

Must-see Photo Spots and Scenic Trails

One of the most popular spots within the park is "Hiaageiwa" 火上げ岩 (literally, Fire Raising Rock). From this large rock jutting out near the summit, visitors can enjoy the surrounding scenery without any obstructions. Here, you can sit on the rock and take photos against the backdrop of the expansive sky and grasslands, beautifully capturing your travel memories. Additionally, there are scenic trails that wind through the suzuki grasslands, allowing visitors to leisurely stroll and immerse themselves in the natural beauty of Oishi Kogen.

Facilities and Visitor Information

After enjoying the natural attractions, it is recommended to take a break at the mountain lodge 山の家おいし "Yama no Ie Oishi", located near the summit. In addition, delicious meals such as Egg over rice, udon, and curry, you can purchase local agricultural products, honey, miso, and handicrafts. For those wishing to stay overnight, there is the Oishi Kogen Campground, where you can enjoy the outdoor life while taking in stunning views of the starry night sky and the sea of clouds. However, due to strong winds at the summit, the use of fire for activities such as bonfires, fireworks, and BBQs is prohibited. BBQs are possible at the paid campground, but please note that prior reservations are required.

By Car

To reach Oishi Kogen by car, it takes about 40-minutes from Kainan City IC on the Hanwa Expressway, and approximately 45-minutes from Arida IC or Arida Minami IC.
