The Saio's Prayer will be held at Takejinja Shrine in Saigū, Meiwa-chō on November 16, 2024.
On nights of the full moon, the Saio walks along the approach to the shrine, is purified at the purification gate, and then makes an offering of tamagushi and pays homage to the shrine in front of the main hall.
The Saio will be appearing as the Saio for the 41st Saio Festival, and you can take photos of her in her gorgeous twelve-layered kimono at various locations within the temple grounds.

Takejinja Shrine is located in Saigū, Meiwa-chō, Taki-gun, Mie Prefecture, along the sanctuary road that leads from Matsusaka to Ise.
If you are traveling by train, get off at Saigū Station on the Kintetsu Yamada Line and walk for about 8 minutes to arrive.
The meeting point, Kintetsu Saigū Station, can be accessed by train or car from central Mie Prefecture.
If you are coming by car, please cross the railroad crossing at Takejinja Shrine and use the parking lot on the east side.
1. Take the Kintetsu Limited Express from Kintetsu Nagoya Station.
