The route from OCAT to JR Namba Station, Osaka Metro Namba Station, and Kintetsu/Hanshin Line Osaka Namba Station is surprisingly complicated.

After boarding the express bus, I finally arrived at Namba. Just as I was excited to enjoy sightseeing in Osaka, I was faced with a big obstacle: how to get from the OCAT bus terminal to downtown Osaka or other cities. The OCAT building is surprisingly complicated.

OCAT/Osaka City Air Terminal

1-4-1 Minato-cho, Naniwa-ku, Osaka-shi, Osaka 556-0017

Osaka City Air Terminal (OCAT) is a multi-purpose commercial complex located in Minatomachi, Naniwa-ku, Osaka. It is home to the South Osaka City Bus Terminal and the Kansai International Airport bus terminal, and is directly connected to JR Namba Station. The six-storey commercial floors also house shops, restaurants, travel agencies and a tourist information centre. OCAT is also a frequent venue for music performances, and the outdoor "Ponte Square" is a place where Osaka's young street dance community can practice and socialise. In addition, an urban dance contest is held here every August.

How to get from OCAT to the West Exit (Taxi/Sightseeing Bus) (using the elevator)

Take this elevator to go from the OCAT Bus Terminal to the 1st floor.

Once you reach the first floor, turn right and then turn left at the hallway. Proceed until you reach the entrance hall.

By the way, if you turn right here, you will reach the South Exit. Once you leave the building from the South Exit, it will be about a 10-minute walk to Namba Yasaka Shrine.

When you reach the entrance hall, turn left.

Continue straight and you will see the West Exit in front of you.

When you exit the building from the west exit, you will find the taxi stand and tourist bus stop.

How to get to the North Exit from OCAT (using the elevator)

Take this elevator to go from OCAT Bus Terminal to the first floor.

Once you reach the first floor, turn right and then left at the hallway. Go straight through the entrance hall to the end of the building.

By the way, if you turn right here, you will reach the South Exit. If you exit the building from the South Exit, you will reach Namba Yasaka Shrine in about 10 minutes on foot.

If you go straight, you will see the north exit at the end.

When you exit the building from the north exit, Hotel Monterey Grasmere Osaka will be on your right.

How to get from OCAT to the East Exit (APA Hotel) (use the elevator)

Take this elevator to go from OCAT Bus Terminal to the first floor.

Once you reach the first floor, turn right and then turn left at the hallway. Proceed until you reach the entrance hall.

By the way, if you turn right here, you will reach the South Exit. If you exit the building from the South Exit, you will reach Namba Yasaka Shrine in about 10 minutes on foot.

Go to the entrance hall and turn right to find the east exit.

Once outside the building via the east exit, you will find the APA Hotel.

How to get from OCAT to JR Namba Station, Osaka Metro Namba Station, and Kintetsu/Hanshin Line Osaka Namba Station (using the elevator)

The elevator at OCAT Bus Terminal only goes up to the first floor.

Therefore, to get to the basement level, where JR Namba Station, Osaka Metro, and Kintetsu and Hanshin Line stations are located, you have to transfer to a different elevator in a different location on the first floor.

Once you reach the first floor, turn right and then turn left at the hallway. Go past the entrance hall and continue straight ahead.

By the way, if you turn right here, you will reach the South Exit. If you exit the building from the South Exit, you will reach Namba Yasaka Shrine in about 10 minutes on foot.

When you see the black hanging sign, turn left.

You will soon see an elevator on your right. Take it down to the basement floor.

Once you get off the elevator, you will see JR Namba Station on the JR Line to your right.

If you board the train at JR Namba Station and transfer at Shin-Imamiya Station, you can travel to Osaka, Nara, and Wakayama.

To get to Universal Studios, take a train bound for Osaka at Shin-Imamiya Station, then change to a train bound for Sakurajima at Nishikujo Station and get off at Universal City Station.

Additionally, if you walk down the corridor inside the Maruito Namba Building directly in front of the elevator, you will arrive at Namba Station on the Osaka Metro via the Yotsubashi Line, Sennichimae Line, and Midosuji Line.

It also connects to Osaka-Namba Station on the Kintetsu and Hanshin lines.

To get to Namba Station on the Nankai Line, first head to the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line and follow the signs there.
