Tokyo Rose Festival 2025: Spring Flowers, Live Music & Photo Spots at Kyu-Furukawa Garden

Kyu-Furukawa Garden is set to dazzle visitors once again with its annual 2025 Spring Rose Festival, showcasing approximately 100 varieties and 200 rose plants in full bloom. The festival runs from April 29 to June 30 and coincides with the completion of renovations to the garden's iconic western-style mansion.

Nestled in the heart of Tokyo, Kyu-Furukawa Garden offers a stunning blend of Western and Japanese landscaping. The garden features a magnificent western mansion designed by Josiah Condor and a tranquil Japanese garden created by renowned Kyoto gardener Ogawa Jihei. This unique combination makes the garden a rare gem in Japan, where guests can relish in its picturesque surroundings.

The Spring Rose Festival, celebrating its 23rd iteration this year, promises an array of engaging activities and events designed to enhance visitors' experiences amidst the breathtaking blooms. The first phase of the mansion's exterior renovations, as part of the festival preparations, has already been completed, with the final touches expected by March 2027.

Festival attendees will have the opportunity to purchase exclusive rose-themed merchandise, including acrylic keychains and decorative items featuring the festival's branding, available only at Kyu-Furukawa Garden.

Early Morning Opening

For those eager to experience the fragrant blooms at dawn, the garden will open early from May 9 to May 11 and May 16 to May 18, allowing guests to enjoy the serene beauty of the rose garden from 8:00.

Spring Rose Music Concert

Set against the backdrop of lush rose beds, the lawn area will host a charming string quartet performance on May 25, providing an opportunity to relax and enjoy beautiful music amidst the floral splendor. The concert will take place at 12:00 and 15:00, with free admission to the performance (entry fee applies).

Spring Rose Popularity Contest

Now in its 12th year, the contest invites visitors to vote for their favorite rose varieties. Both on-site voting and social media participation via the hashtag #SpringRosePopularityContest2025 are encouraged.

Rose Garden Market

A bustling market featuring a variety of rose-themed products and plants will be open daily from 10:00 to 16:30, adding a festive charm to the garden's atmosphere.

Spring Rose Photo Spots

Festival-goers can capture beautiful memories by taking photos with the stunning roses and the elegantly restored mansion as a backdrop.
