Located at the entrance to Yubara Onsen, Footbath Park features the spacious "Hanzaki Foot Bath," approximately 26 meters wide. "Hanzaki (Japanese Giant Salamander) " is the local name for the Japanese giant Japanese Giant Salamander , a nationally designated Special Natural Monument . The name comes from a legend that it "continues to live even after being torn in half." Hanzaki (Japanese Giant Salamander) is the mascot character at Yubara Onsen , and at Footbath Park, visitors are greeted by an art object called "Hanzaki-san Cooling Down in a Bath," created for the 2019 art event " Mimasaka Three Hot Springs Art Temperature."

The alkaline waters of Yubara Onsen soften the skin surface and wash away excess sebum and dead skin cells. This is why it is known as "beautiful skin water." The facility is kept clean and is surrounded by mountains. The scenery is especially beautiful during the autumn foliage season. You can also spend a relaxing time listening to the murmuring of the river flowing nearby.

While taking photos, I was excited to get into the foot bath. At first, the temperature felt high, but gradually it became a pleasant warmth. As I soaked in the water while looking at the mountain scenery and listening to the murmuring of the clear stream, I felt my fatigue gradually disappear. It's very convenient that you can enjoy it in your everyday clothes. It felt so good that I forgot about the photo shoot and got so engrossed in the foot bath that even the hem of my skirt got wet (lol). If you are planning to visit, please be careful not to get your clothes wet.

You can also stay overnight in a camper at the RV park!

The park also has an RV park (a space exclusively for campers) where you can stay overnight in your camper. There is also a grassy area and public restrooms, making it a place that families can enjoy all day long.

Located on the banks of the Asahi River, this footbath is surrounded by mountains and allows you to soak while listening to the murmuring of a clear stream. It has a total width of about 26 meters and can accommodate up to 50 people at a time.

Hand and foot baths

Located almost in the Chuo of Yubara Onsen town, the Hand and Foot Bath is a facility where you can soak both your hands and feet in hot spring water. The atmosphere is reminiscent of an Asian resort, and you can sit down and soak your hands and feet in the hot spring water. Because it is close to the hot spring source, the water temperature is a little high, but you will soon get used to it and feel comfortable. A clear stream flows below the facility, and you can enjoy the hot spring atmosphere while looking out at the natural scenery of the mountains in front of you and listening to the sound of the river.

From the foot bath shaped Hanzaki (Japanese Giant Salamander) a Japanese Giant Salamander, you can get a close-up view of the clear stream in front of you, and feel like you're in the middle of nature. We ordered some popular takeout waffles from the cute riverside shop "Howaffuru Waffle Shop." Waffles made with seasonal fruits are popular, and at the time of our visit, they were selling blueberry waffles. Custard waffles can be enjoyed all year round.

There is a "Hanzaki Foot Bath" on the riverbed just below the store, so you can enjoy your feet in the footbath immediately after purchasing.

The croquettes at Hisamoto Butcher Shop, located along the river, are freshly fried, hot, and have a fluffy texture that will whet your appetite. They are only sold on weekdays, but enjoying a foot bath with a croquette in hand was a wonderful experience.

It is open 24 hours a day for free, so you can enjoy the natural hot springs in the great outdoors at any time. It has been praised as one of the "West Yokozuna" in the national open-air bath ranking, and you can enjoy baths with different temperatures, such as Bijin-no-Yu, Kodakara-no-Yu, and Choju-no-Yu. Nearby sightseeing spots include Hiruzen Kogen, a vast plateau that is very popular with families.
