Mewtwo Is Coming to Pokémon Sleep in September 2026

Pokémon Sleep has announced a wave of new events, collaborations, and campaigns for September 2026 under the theme #SleepWithPokémon.

One of the biggest announcements is the Pokémon Sleep debut of the Legendary Pokémon Mewtwo.

Starting September 14, players can participate in the new Research the Hidden Land! In Pursuit of Mewtwo event.

Researchers around the world will work together to explore an uncharted area of Greengrass Isle and search for Mewtwo's rare sleeping styles.

The Mythical Pokémon Mew will also play an important role. Sleeping alongside Mew during the event will provide a bonus to Drowsy Power.

Mew can currently be befriended through the Miracle Snap Mission Mini, available until September 7 at 3:59.

But Mewtwo isn't the only major Pokémon Sleep announcement coming this September!

Stay Inside a Giant Poké Ball in Hokkaido

Pokémon Sleep is teaming up with NOT A HOTEL to bring an unusual accommodation experience to Hokkaido in September 2026.

The Stayable Poké Ball transforms the familiar Pokémon item into an actual place where guests can spend the night.

Created using NOT A HOTEL's architecture and technology, the giant Poké Ball-shaped accommodation will appear surrounded by Hokkaido's natural scenery.

Full details about the interior and overnight experience are scheduled to be revealed on September 15.

A campaign will give selected winners the opportunity to stay inside the Poké Ball. The accommodation will be exclusively available to campaign winners and will not be open to the general public.

Pokémon Sleep Fitbit Air Launches September 15

A special Google Fitbit Air Limited Model Pokémon Sleep will be released on September 15.

The screenless fitness tracker weighs just 12 grams, including its band, and features a special design of Pikachu sleeping peacefully.

Sleep data recorded by the device can also be connected to Pokémon Sleep and used for daily sleep research in the app.

The collaboration model is currently available for pre-order through the Google Store and other retailers.

A separate Google Play Points campaign is also planned for mid-September, offering eligible Platinum members and above the chance to win prizes including the Pokémon Sleep Fitbit Air, plush toys, figures, and Pokémon GO Plus +.

Snorlax Events Are Coming to AEON Malls Across Japan

Sleep-loving Snorlax will appear at AEON Group locations around Japan as part of the #SleepActivitiesWithSnorlax presented by AEON campaign.

Special events will include sleep quizzes and relaxing pre-bed exercises inspired by Fuecoco. Participants can also receive prefecture-themed original stickers while supplies last.

Meanwhile, Snorlax Rest Areas will appear at 135 AEON Malls across Japan, where shoppers can relax and take photos with Snorlax.

Selected locations in Chiba, Nagano, Nara, and Okinawa will even welcome visitors with a life-size Snorlax.

Pikachu and Snorlax Become Sleep Support Ambassadors

Pokémon Sleep is also collaborating with Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare as part of its Smart Life Project.

Pikachu and Snorlax wearing nightcaps will serve as Sleep Support Ambassadors during Japan's Health Promotion Month in September.

From September 1 to 30, local governments and related organizations around Japan will present a Pokémon Sleep-themed picture-card show called Snorlax's Dream.

The program aims to teach children and adults about the importance of getting enough sleep and introduce tips for developing better sleeping habits.

Miyazaki Named Japan's Best Prefecture for Sleep

Pokémon Sleep also revealed the results of its 2026 National Sleep Prefecture Grand Prix, analyzing data from approximately 43,000 people across Japan's 47 prefectures.

Miyazaki Prefecture took first place overall, followed by Niigata, Fukui, Okinawa, and Yamaguchi.

The study examined five areas: sleep duration, sleep regularity, how quickly people fall asleep, sleep efficiency, and how well-rested people feel.

High-ranking prefectures tended to share two characteristics: going to bed and waking up early, and maintaining consistent sleep schedules.

The study also found a noticeable difference between regional and metropolitan Japan. Kanagawa, Saitama, Chiba, and Tokyo ranked lower overall, with longer commuting times suggested as one factor affecting weekday sleep.
