Renowned art collective teamLab will create another dynamic spectacle of digital light at Kairakuen Garden in Ibaraki's Mito City.
Kairakuen is a renowned plum blossom viewing spot boasting around 3,000 plum trees of one hundred different varieties. This garden is also one of the most beautiful places to visit in the fall, when the leaves of the ginkgo trees lining its paths turn a bright, eye-catching gold.
The Festival of Light will see this historical garden evolve into an exhilarating art display complete with interactive exhibitions.

The Festival of Light will kick off on February 13th and run until March 21st, 2021. During this period, the park’s 3,000 magnificent plum trees will be in bloom, transforming the whole area into a vivid kaleidoscope of pinks and whites and filling the air with a delicate scent.

Kairakuen itself is a must-visit for lovers of Japanese gardens. Established in 1842 during the latter half of the Edo period (1603-1868), it is known as one of the Three Great Gardens of Japan. teamLab’s exhibition will also coincide with Kairakuen’s highly anticipated plum blossom festival, which is celebrating its 180-year anniversary.
Soak up some of Japan’s most pristine nature and be hypnotized by teamLab’s newest project at Kairakuen’s Festival of Light!
