The story is about a middle-aged man being dumped by a woman he likes. It's a movie that gives you a moment of peace and hope.
Yunohira Onsen in Yufuin-cho, Oita Prefecture is the filming location for the 30th film, Otoko wa Tsurai - Hana mo Arashi mo Torajiro.

Yunohira Onsen hit by heavy rain disaster in Kyushu

On July 7, 2020, the torrential rain that hit various parts of Japan, including Kumamoto Prefecture, Kyushu, and the Chubu region, also caused enormous damage here at Yunohira Onsen.

Due to this heavy rain, the Kagono River, which flows through the center of Yunohira Onsen, overflowed, and there was also a tragic accident in which four family members who were in the process of evacuating died.
In addition, Yunohira Onsen was hit hard by the impact of the new coronavirus that began at the beginning of this year.

One day when people were in a gloomy mood, unbelievable big news jumped in.
The hero of that movie, Tora-san, has come to support the reconstruction of Yunohira Onsen!

It was a life-sized panel of Tora-san sent by the kindness of the movie company Shochiku Co., Ltd., which learned of the disaster in Yunohira.
And on that panel, the director of the film, Yoji Yamada, and the actors in the 30th film, Kenji Sawada and Yuko Tanaka, wrote messages of support in their own hands!

"Tora-san is also worried. Do your best at Yunohira Onsen!" (Director Yamada)
"Respect for the motivated of everyone in Yunohira!!" (Kenji Sawada)
"Tora-san is here. Please take a rest here. I sincerely hope that you are doing well every day." (Yuko Tanaka)
