A newly expanded egg-shaped dome, commonly known as "Small Egg", has appeared!

When you first stand in front of the front entrance of the Dinosaur Museum, you will be greeted by a small silver dome on the right. This small silver dome and the large silver dome can be moved back and forth indoors. I would like to introduce you to the newly renovated area, including the inside of this dome.

A glowing monument "Dinosaur Tower" on the escalator side is now available!

The "Dinosaur Tower" monument has been installed in the new hall, which has an atrium from the first floor to the third floor. This dinosaur tower features five species of dinosaurs discovered in Fukui Prefecture: Fukuiraptor, Fukuisaurus, Fukuibenator, Fukuititan, and Koshisaurus, as well as one Fukuipterius bird. This tower that appears when you ride the escalator is very impressive, so be sure to take a look when you get on the escalator.

Aim to be a dinosaur doctor! Dino Library now open

The Dino Library is located on the passageway connecting the new building. Once inside the museum, you can read books and papers about dinosaurs and fossils. It's great because you can find out anything you didn't understand at the museum right away at the dinosaur lab!

The fossil experience laboratory has been opened!

A laboratory has opened where you can experience simulated fossil research. You can enjoy it as if you were a researcher. At the entrance to the laboratory, there are displays of research tools used by researchers, which will make you feel excited even before you enter the laboratory. There are a total of 4 types of menus in the photo (laboratory entrance). You can experience four things: "Fossil Cleaning" and "CT Fossil Observation" which can be enjoyed all year round, "Fossil Excavation Plus" which can be enjoyed from mid-November to mid-April, and "T-Rex Skull Restoration" which can be enjoyed from late April to early November. . The main building has also been renewed! Impressive 3-sided dyno theater

An impressive theater with three large screens located in the special exhibition room. The screen will display images that recreate the current Fukui Station area and what it looked like in the early Cretaceous period 120,000,000 years ago. When a dinosaur appears on the screen, the vibrations of its footsteps spread throughout the theater, and the immersive effects conveyed through the video are must-sees.

Visible storage is open to the public

Part of the wall of the actual storage room is made of glass so that you can see inside, where fossils and specimens are stored. It's valuable to be able to look inside the storage room. Also, the specimens inside will be replaced, so it may be different every time you go!

You can see the ``mummy fossil of the herbivorous dinosaur Brachylophosaurus'' exhibited for the first time in Japan!

You can see the actual mummy fossil of Brachylophosaurus, which has skin marks all over its body. Skin scars can be seen on 80-90% of the body. You can experience the dinosaurs of the time and imagine what they looked like when they were alive. Mummy fossils are so rare that fewer than 10 have been confirmed in the world.

The powerful moving dinosaur robot is still alive and well even after the renewal!

A moving robot Tyrannosaurus will welcome you on the first basement floor of the main building. This robot is so reproducible that you can't help but back away from it. On either side of the moving Tyrannosaurus, replicas of the full-body fossil skeletons of the herbivorous dinosaur Saurolophus and the carnivorous dinosaur Tarbosaurus were installed. This is one of the places you should definitely check out when you enter the museum.

This is a room where cute dinosaurs are scattered on the walls and floor. Having a place where they can take a break is very helpful when traveling with small children.

The restaurant and museum shop are adjacent. At the entrance of the restaurant and shop, you will be greeted by a giant Super Bowl rattler. The restaurant is more than three times the size of before the renovation. At one end of the store, dinosaur fossils can be seen through glass.
