2024 ANNIVERSARY REIWA
To celebrate the fifth anniversary of Kurono Tokyo, a revival release of REIWA, one of Kurono's most sought after timepiece has been announced. The design reflects Hajime Asaoka's commitment throughout.

"It has been over three years since I visited the area near Koriyama after a meeting at an exterior manufacturer. The area is known for its numerous ponds and lakes called "Goshiki-numa" formed by volcanic activity with the various hues of the water surface influenced by the volcanic materials in each lake, creating a stunning scenery. The color of "Ruri-Numa" (Lapis Lake) in particular took my breath away.
The green color of this lake's water surface is different from that of leaves or minerals. For example, the green of leaves is produced by the reflection of the sun's spectrum while the green of minerals like jade is created when the sun's spectrum penetrates slightly into the surface and then scatters inside, giving it a distinctive pale green tint. The green of Ruri-Numa arises from both the inherent color of the water and the interaction with volcanic materials in the lake, creating a unique and beautiful shade I had never seen before. When I visited, it was nearing dusk, which darkened the trunks of the trees on the far bank, forming a beautiful contrast with the green of the water.
