Expo 2025 Osaka is a highly anticipated international event that has been hosted in over twenty countries since the very first ‘Great Exhibition’ was held in the United Kingdom in the year 1851.
The Expo 2025 Osaka is a six-month long event that will begin April 13 and end October 13, 2025. Millions of visitors are expected to attend the large-scale event on Yumeshima Island. The theme of the Osaka World Expo is “designing a future society for our lives tomorrow.”

Before taking a look at the various ticket types available for purchase at the Expo 2025 Osaka, please note the official dates of the exhibition. If you’re unsure of which dates you would like to attend, it’s better to purchase tickets for the whole exhibition period as it is required to select a date when purchasing tickets.
Opening Period: April 13 - 26, 2025
First-Half Period: April 13 - July 18, 2025
Whole Exhibition Period: April 13 - October 13, 2025
All tickets can be purchased through the official website of the Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan Experience, and various travel agencies.
The tickets for the World Expo are e-tickets that can be purchased on a computer or mobile device. Below is a list of the types of tickets available at the Expo 2025 Osaka.
Advance Tickets: These tickets are available to purchase in advance and cover the Opening Period, First-Half Period, and One-Day tickets.
Multiple-Entry Pass: These are season pass tickets that allow guests to attend the Expo 2025 Osaka at any point during the six months the event will be running. The Multiple-Entry Pass is divided into Season and Summer Passes.
Special Tickets: This is available for guests with a disability certificate and an accompanying guest who may be able to provide some assistance.
Group Tickets: These tickets are separated into three categories: Group, School Group (First-Half), School Group (Second-Half).
Tickets For Sale During the Expo: General admission falls under one-day, weekday, and night tickets.
Registering Your ExpoID
Once you have decided what kind of ticket you would like to buy, you must register your ExpoID on the official tickets web store.
The ExpoID allows guests to purchase tickets for themselves and other attendees, such as other family members. Guests will also be able to check for booking availability on specific dates of the world expo and reserve access to the on-site pavilions. To register your ExpoID, an e-mail address, SNS account, and smartphone will be required.
After receiving confirmation to your e-mail address, you will be officially registered for an ExpoID.
How To Purchase Tickets for the Expo
Once you have filled out the registration form for the ExpoID, selected a username and password, and received email confirmation that your account has been registered, you are ready to purchase your tickets for the World Expo!
Choose which ticket type is best for you and be as accurate with your information as possible (Please be aware of the specific dates you are purchasing the tickets for).
Payment is available through a credit card as well as at a Japanese convenience store. After the purchase is complete, you will receive e-tickets for the Osaka World Expo on your mobile device or computer.
Once you have received the e-tickets, you will be able to book your admission date and time six months in advance of the date of your visit.

Admission Date Arrival
On the date you have set for your admission reservation, please go to the World Expo entrance gate which will be located on the newly renovated Yumeshima Island in Osaka, Japan. Be prepared to show your e-tickets on your smartphone or mobile device.
Expo 2025 Osaka Highlights

The venues of Expo 2025 Osaka will be set on the island of Yumeshima. The new terminal will be less than 30 minutes from Osaka Station.
In addition to the main Expo Hall, there are several exciting things to look forward to on this 155.6 hectares of land that will be designed by the playful mind of architect Sou Fujimoto.
The Green World, also known as the “Forest of Tranquility,” is a large open space with greenery facing the sea with space for outdoor events as well as a transportation terminal.
Pavilion World is located inside of a circular promenade that will serve as the center of the World Expo and house several pavilions representing the main theme of the exhibition. This area will be further divided into three sections called Saving Lives, Empowering Lives, and Connecting Lives.
Water World is a seaside plaza where food service facilities will be available to guests. Water World is also set to be the stage for any events on the water with views of the Seto Inland Sea.
In addition to exciting pavilions, the World Expo will also host forums and conferences on a variety of future-minded topics, including but not limited to the ethical use of Artificial Intelligence, solutions to combat climate change, and sustainable city design.

Here are a few tips to keep in mind when planning an unforgettable trip to the Expo 2025 Osaka.
1. Avoid attending the expo during public holidays, such as Golden Week (late April to early May). Holidays bring in large crowds, so it might be a good idea to visit Osaka during a less busy time of the year.
2. Be sure to book tickets at least six months in advance. When it comes to purchasing tickets at affordable prices and reserving admission to the pavilions, it’s best to get it done early.
3. Enjoy the world expo during less busy hours and be sure to give yourself enough time by arriving early in the morning.
Other Great Places to Visit while in Osaka
The world expo is just one of many reasons to plan a visit to Osaka in 2025. Considered by many as the official food capital of Japan, Osaka has many great places to see that are a great addition to any itinerary. Here are a few places that we recommend visiting in Osaka.
1. Dotonbori

The famous area of Dotonbori is a great place to kick off a tour of Osaka. Check out the famous Glico sign and stop by any of the famous restaurants and bars in the area.
Many visitors choose to visit a popular retro gaming arcade or try Osaka’s famous fried octopus balls, known as takoyaki in Japanese.
2. Tsutenkaku Tower

Though the famous blowfish sign above restaurant Zuboraya is no more, Tsutenkaku Tower still stands proud as a symbol of Osaka's history in the Shinsekai neighborhood of Osaka.
The 75-meter tall tower erected in 1956 is located in an area that’s great for bar-hopping and enjoying a night on the town.
