This cafe specializes in rice flour pancakes and is located deep in Higashi Chaya District, one of the three teahouse districts in Kanazawa. It occupies an old townhouse that is over 100 years old, and the exposed beams on the ceiling give it an even more nostalgic atmosphere. The first floor has table seating, and the second floor has tatami seating, creating a relaxing atmosphere.

The pancakes served there are all made with rice flour milled from Koshihikari rice grown in Ishikawa Prefecture, which is then carefully mixed with whipped egg whites, meringue, milk, and just a little salt to create fluffy, chewy, and smooth pancakes.

The manager's recommendation is the "Golden Rice Flour Pancakes" covered in sparkling gold leaf. This gorgeous dish is unique to Kanazawa, the number one producer of gold leaf in Japan, and is also gluten-free, making it the most popular among foreigners. Toppings include Kaga Bocha tea and Gorojima Kintoki Mont Blanc cream, as well as Itaya's special red bean paste, so you can enjoy a variety of flavors at the same time. For sweet potato lovers, we recommend the "Gorojima Kintoki Rice Flour Mont Blanc Pancakes." The Gorojima Kintoki Mont Blanc cream goes perfectly with the fluffy pancakes, so you'll never tire of eating them all.
