Three beaches in the city

Rinku Beach

This artificial beach was built on the opposite side of Centrair. It is located in an inland bay surrounded by breakwaters, so it has very gentle waves and white sand, and is one of the largest artificial beaches in the Tokai region (approximately 630m long). The combination of planes taking off and landing at the airport in front of you, the sunset, and the sea is a sight you can only see here. The yellow "RINKU" monument is also a popular photo spot. In the summer, it is crowded with people who enjoy BBQs and swimming in the sea. At the cafe "SEA AND SKY TERRACE", you can also get a panoramic view of the beach from the terrace seats.

Link del mar just opened in April last year in Rinku Beach. It is a glamping-style BBQ facility. At the BBQ, you can enjoy Spanish dishes such as paella and ajillo, as well as a large piece of meat. It is a space where you can relax and enjoy a delicious fruit cocktail or champagne while looking out at the sea, just like at a tropical resort.

The comfortable site space that is unique to glamping facilities is also an attraction. There are five different themes available, from casual outdoor to luxurious relaxation, and you can choose when making a reservation. The trendy dome tents are air-conditioned and spacious, even for groups. Pets are allowed, so please choose according to your purpose and number of people. It can also be used as a cafe when driving or swimming in the sea. You can enjoy frappes and lattes at the café booth/café space.

Camping is available on the beach for a limited period from spring to autumn (weekends and holidays only). This is an ocean view site where you can enjoy swimming with friends on the beach in front of you and watch the most amazing sunsets in the evenings. This is the perfect event for those who love the sea and camping. There is also the "Tokoname Rinku Fishing Embankment" nearby where you can enjoy sea fishing, so you can enjoy the fish you catch in the comfort of your own tent. Prices start from 6,000 yen per site, and be sure to check out the original Sierra cups (sold at the camp reception, limited quantity) that can only be purchased by guests staying overnight!

Ono Beach

This beautiful beach is said to be the oldest swimming beach in the world. It is popular with tourists with children, and is a good size, so it is recommended for families. It is also the closest swimming beach in Tokoname from Nagoya, so it is also attractively accessible. It is also known as a sunset viewing point, and the view of the sunset sinking into the Suzuka Mountains is breathtakingly beautiful. It is also known for the poem by Kamo no Chomei, who visited here in the early Kamakura period, that read, "The fresh fish dishes are delicious, and the sake is also delicious. I came to Ono for a tide-filled hot spring, and ended up staying for a long time."

Sakai Beach

It is a long, shallow sandy beach that stretches for about 500m. Because it is shallow, you can walk up to 200m away at low tide in some places, so even small children can play safely. It is also interesting to see the difference in scenery between low tide and high tide (apparently the difference is about 220cm at times!).

Octopus fishing experience

Onizaki is famous for seaweed farming. Onizaki is located north of Chubu Centrair International Airport, in Ise Bay, where fresh water from the Kiso River and seawater are in perfect harmony. This fishing ground is blessed with the bounty of nature, and has been producing seaweed since ancient times, making it one of the top seaweed producing areas in the prefecture. For a limited time, Onizaki fishermen will be attending to you in a boat fishing experience for octopus. The fishermen will personally teach you the tricks, so even beginners can feel at ease. If you catch something, you can take it home with you.

Taya Beach

Taya Beach is a precious natural beach where seaside plants such as sea laurels bloom and sea turtles come to lay their eggs! It is also a popular spot for young people, where you can enjoy marine sports such as board sailing, and watch airplanes take off and land and the sun set over the Suzuka Mountains.
