CEC lent a hand in managing the "EXPO KYOTO MEETING - The Spirit of Harmony and the Future of the Earth," which was held at the venue on Wednesday, April 23rd. Here is a report on the event!
What is "EXPO KYOTO MEETING"?

This grand event was centered on Kyoto and focused on asking questions of the world and the future! It consisted of two main parts: five talk sessions and performances by traditional performing arts and next-generation artists.

Wearing matching furoshiki, they helped guide guests to the venue.
We, the CEC members, were in charge of guiding visitors around the venue, wearing the designated furoshiki wrapping cloths like scarves.

Getting ready in the waiting room. One of the members came up with the idea to wrap it like a scarf, which turned out lovely.

The program began with a dance performance by geisha and maiko from Miyagawacho, one of the five geisha districts of Kyoto. The dance, with its graceful movements and elegance, was truly a quintessential Kyoto experience.

A group photo of everyone who participated on the day! Thank you for your hard work.

There were many other performances, including a special collaboration performance by the Kyiv National Ballet School's sister school, Terada Ballet Art School, Anastasia Shevchenko, principal of the National Ballet of Ukraine, and the contemporary dance group Dance Barbizon.
I was surprised to learn that a ballet school in Kyoto had connections to Kiev!

A talk session asking questions about the future from a variety of genres
The talk sessions were also extremely diverse, covering a wide range of topics, from traditional culture to cutting-edge academic fields and international themes. As befitting Kyoto, the city of learning, it was a forum for researchers and cultural figures from Japan and abroad to talk across genres.

After the closing ceremony, there was a "Youth Stage" by high school students from Kyoto. The students, who act as local advisors, gave a presentation proposing a two-day, one-night sightseeing route in Kyoto. CEC members were also involved in the preliminary rehearsals as ambassadors.
You can also interact with the speakers in the dressing room!
We also had the opportunity to make special visits to the speakers' dressing rooms and talk to them.
CEC's activities were highly praised for providing students with special experiences and connections with others.
