Naruto City , Tokushima Prefecture , is the Higashi gateway to Shikoku, and is connected to the Kansai region by the Naruto and the Akashi Strait. Naruto City has both the sea and the mountains, allowing you to enjoy a diverse range of nature.

There are also many tourist attractions such as the Naruto Whirlpools, one of the three largest tides in the world, the Awa Dance, and the Pilgrimage.

What is "BOAT RACE Naruto PRESENTS Naruto Summer Festival - A Fantastic Show of Songs and Fireworks"?

The Naruto City Summer Fireworks Festival, which was held until 2023, has been revamped into a complex event incorporating a stage, festival and market, and fireworks!

*The event will be canceled in the event of bad weather. (The event will be held even in the rain. There is no backup day.)

It will be held at Naruto Otsuka Sports Park .

It is about a 25 minute walk from JR Naruto Station to the venue, or about a 5 minute taxi ride.

Local buses

Get off at Naruto City Hall or Naruto City Hall North. The venue is about a 15-minute walk away.

Located near the Naruto Naruto Bus Stop, we provide information on sightseeing and transportation in the surrounding area, mainly in the city. The facility also features a JR Shikoku Bus and Tokushima Bus Group express bus ticket issuing counter (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.). The facility is equipped with a tourist information board focusing on Naruto City, a waiting room, coin lockers, rental bicycles, toilets, a taxi stand, and more. A free slope car called "Sloppy" runs between the mountaintop station, where the express bus stop is located, and Information Center Station. There is also a 24-hour parking lot (capacity 171 cars).

Take the local bus from the Naruto Naruto bus stop and get off at Naruto City Hall. It is about a 15-minute walk from the Naruto City Hall bus stop to the venue.

Get off at Naruto IC and it takes about 15 minutes to get there.

You can also get off at Naruto IC and get there in about 10 minutes.

There is a temporary parking lot available for your use.

Temporary parking is available at the following parking lots: the parking lot near the Cultural Center, the parking lot at Naruto City Hall, and the parking lot near the Otsuka Pharmaceutical Factory.

Highlights and event times

Stage Event

A stage show will be held featuring Matsumoto Matsumoto, who is famous for singing the theme song "Become a Pokémon Master" to the anime "Pokémon," as well as local dance teams.

Time: 17:30-20:20

Festivals and markets

There will be stalls selling shaved ice, lotteries, and other nostalgic festival items. There will also be a market with local stores from within the city and prefecture.

Location: Between the front of the Sports Park and the Symbol Zone

A fantastic show of songs and fireworks

The night sky of Naruto will be lit up with a variety of displays, including musical fireworks and laser light displays.

Time: 20:40-21:00

Launch location: Near the pond next to the teahouse

Number of launches: Approximately 1,000

Viewing location: Around the Symbol Zone

*There are no paid seating available.

*Until noon on Thursday, August 7, 2025, blue tarps and other items used to reserve seats in the spectator seats will be removed.

*The area around the pond within the sports park is a restricted area.

Precautions

1. Pets are not allowed.

2. If you find an unexploded bomb or other object, please leave the area immediately and contact the Naruto Police Station. (TEL: 088-685-0110)

3. Please do not enter pedestrian, vehicle or restricted areas.

4. The Naruto Awa Odori Executive Committee will not be held responsible for any theft or accidents that occur in the parking lot or other areas.

5. Please refrain from illegal parking as it will cause inconvenience to our neighbors.

6. The toilets will be very crowded, so please make sure to use them beforehand. (Please use the toilets around Pocari Sweat Stadium.)

7. Thank you for your cooperation in the "City Clean-up" every year. We ask that you please take your trash home with you this year as well.

About Naruto Awaodori

"Awa Odori" is one of the three biggest Bon Odori festivals in Japan! The first in the prefecture, "Naruto Awaodori" will be held on a grand scale from August 9th to 11th.

Why not enjoy the Summer Festival on the 7th, sightseeing in Naruto the next day, and then enjoy the Awa Dance Festival the day after that?
