Universal Studios Japan 2027: Fullmetal Alchemist and More
Fullmetal Alchemist returns to Universal Studios Japan in spring 2027! Explore the lineup, including Sailor Moon, Detective Conan, and The Apothecary Diaries.
Opening Spring 2027! Fullmetal Alchemist Returns to USJ
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is returning to Universal Studios Japan for the park’s first collaboration with the series in 22 years.
Scheduled to open in spring 2027, the limited-time program will join Universal Cool Japan 2027, alongside the first-ever theme park collaboration for Daemons of the Shadow Realm, another work by Fullmetal Alchemist creator Hiromu Arakawa.

The wider event begins in stages on December 2, 2026, with a five-title lineup that also includes Sailor Moon, The Apothecary Diaries, and Detective Conan.
Step into the World of Fullmetal Alchemist

Brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric will once again bring their world of alchemy to Universal Studios Japan.
The park first collaborated with Fullmetal Alchemist in spring 2005 through the Fullmetal Alchemist Premiere Tour, its first event based on a Japanese television anime.
The upcoming program draws on Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, which follows the brothers’ search for the Philosopher’s Stone after a forbidden attempt to resurrect their mother costs them dearly.
With the original manga celebrating its 25th anniversary and more than 90 million copies in circulation worldwide, the collaboration gives longtime fans another reason to plan a visit. The attraction format and exact dates will be announced later.
Daemons of the Shadow Realm Makes Its Theme Park Debut

Opening alongside Fullmetal Alchemist in spring 2027, Daemons of the Shadow Realm will make its first appearance at a theme park.
Hiromu Arakawa’s supernatural fantasy centers on twins Yuru and Asa, whose destinies are tied to the division between night and day. Mysterious powers and battles involving supernatural pairs known as tsugai drive the story.
The manga has surpassed 7.5 million copies in circulation, and a second season of its television anime has been confirmed.
Details of how the series will come to life at the park are still to be announced.
Sailor Moon Returns with a 4-D Show and a New Ride Collaboration

Sailor Moon kicks off the event from December 2, 2026, to April 5, 2027.
Fans can enjoy the returning Sailor Moon: The Miracle 4-D — Moon Palace Chapter Deluxe, a theater attraction that brings the magical girls’ world to life.
A new Sailor Moon × Story Ride will also debut as part of Universal Studios Japan’s 25th-anniversary celebrations.
New Mysteries with The Apothecary Diaries and Detective Conan

The Apothecary Diaries will return with a new program featuring Maomao and Jinshi, running from February 10 to June 30, 2027.
The experience will tie in with the series’ upcoming film, scheduled for release in Japan on December 11, 2026. Its attraction format will be revealed later.

During the same period, Detective Conan World will offer three ways to join the mystery: a live escape game, an entertainment restaurant, and a story ride.
Further announcements will reveal more about the attractions, themed food, and merchandise across the Universal Cool Japan 2027 lineup.
