What Is Animegane?

Animegane (Japanese) is Japan’s only anime glasses shop.

Original eyeglasses inspired by characters in collaboration with anime titles that are popular worldwide, such as the “Fate” series, “Evangelion”, and “Toho Project”, are sold here.

They not only have an online shop, but also run a physical shop as well. The shop is located a five minute walk from Akihabara Station and a two minute walk from Suehirocho Station on the Ginza Subway Line. Here, you can try on eyeglasses and even change them to corrective lenses that fit your prescription when you take an in-store eye exam.

We especially recommend this shop to those that not only want glasses as collectors’ items, but also want to use them for everyday life, as you can check whether or not they will suit you in person.

In this article, we’ll introduce how to peruse the shop from details about the product lineup to making a purchase.

An Array of Glasses From Famous Anime

Inside Animegane

All anime eyeglasses sold by Animegane are on display in the shop. Not only are the glasses themselves on display, but so are accessory items such as lens cleaning cloths and eyeglasses cases.

There are several mirrors set up inside so that you can check whether or not it’s a design suitable for you while trying them on. There are also times when some people realize, “It’s from an anime I like, but it didn’t suit me once I actually tried it on” due to the unique designs often found in anime.

As a result, the fact that you can purchase glasses after trying them on is a huge advantage especially for those that think they’ll be wearing them on a regular basis.
