With the hot, humid Japanese summer approaching, UNIQLO has been asked by customers all over Japan to develop a mask made of the popular AIRism material. The AIRism Mask will be released in June 2020 and helps offer virus and UV protection.

Due to COVID- 19, most people all over the world opt to wear masks for the protection of themselves and others. With summer approaching in Japan, there is a concern regarding a higher risk of heat strokes due to wearing a mask in the hot, humid weather.

UNIQLO AIRism Mask - With UV Cut, Perfect For The Summer

UNIQLO has revealed its solution just in time with its AIRism Mask made from AIRism fabric, one of UNIQLO’s most famous trademarked materials. These masks are breathable, cooling, quick-drying, and have built-in UV protection.

The AIRism Mask consists of three thin but efficient layers. The top layer filters UV rays up to 90% while the other two layers combined protect from about 99% of all viruses and germs. Masks can be machine washed and are supposed to keep their effectiveness for up to twenty washes.

The AIRism Mask is supposed to feel just as light and airy as the usual AIRism wear from UNIQLO. The cooling textile might make the hot Japanese summer in a mask a little more bearable.

The AIRism mask will be released on June 19, 2020, and will be available in the sizes S, M or L. A set of three retails for 990 yen. There is a purchasing limit of one pack per size.

The first release is only available in white and from UNIQLO Japan for now, but worldwide distribution is planned to begin soon.
