Enjoy a uniquely Japanese opera in Shibuya!
A double bill opera performance of the traditional Japanese folk tale "Momotaro" and the Italian masterpiece "Gianni Schicchi". Two completely different works were composed as one continuous story. Enjoy the style of Japanese opera that can only be seen in Japan!
A new form of opera.
In 2013, the opera "Momotaro-The Peachboy-" was born from a project by a certain music college student.
In 1918, the opera "Gianni Schicchi" was born as Puccini's only comedy.
When operas born in completely different times and cultures meet, a new story is born.
