Welcome to the mysterious parallel world!

Kumamon, with his rosy cheeks and adorable round eyes, is hugely popular all over the world. He performs on stage in Kumamoto, promotes Kumamoto as a sales manager outside the prefecture and overseas, and travels all over the world. However, it has been said that there is actually a "Kumamon Road" that only Kumamon can go through, and that he travels back and forth across time and space! Furthermore, it seems that there is a rift in time and space within Kumamon Square, which intersects with Kumamon's Road. Kumamon passes through there every day, so if you time your trip to Kumamon Square right, you can meet Kumamon. Kumamoto truly has a dreamlike space.

The excitement never stops! Three new booths

The concept of this Kumamon Square is to be able to "enjoy yourself while feeling Kumamon" whenever you want, whether you are there or not because you are on a business trip. The three newly created booths are filled with things that will excite the hearts of not only Kumamon freaks, but casual fans too.

Part 1: You can even see Kumamon's tail! The 360-degree Kumamon Stage

Since its opening in July 2013, Kumamon Square has welcomed over 3 million guests. Its most popular feature, the Kumamon Stage, has also had a makeover. A circular stage has been installed in the middle of the building, allowing visitors to enjoy a 360-degree view of Kumamon as he performs his magnificent dance. The stage is open every day. No. 2: A photo spot with a lifelike Kumamon

I want to take a photo with Kumamon! This photo spot will make that wish come true. Inside the booth, there is a Kumamon that looks just like the real thing in size and texture, and you can sit next to it and take photos together. If you really want to touch Kumamon, you can do so gently. Just between you and me, his fluffy fur feels really nice.

3. AR games that can be played on a large screen

When Kumamon's stage is not on, the 360-degree stage is transformed into an AR game play area! Everyone from children to adults can play freely.

Once you stand on the stage, the game begins. Kumamon will pop out of the screen and ask you a quiz, so all you have to do is move left and right to answer the questions. At the end, you can take a commemorative photo with Kumamon, just like in a Purikura photo booth. There are also rhythm games and other activities, so even when Kumamon isn't around, you can feel like you're up close and personal with him. *Please note that there are times when the AR game is not available.

There's more! The special booths are endlessly fun.

★Find Kumamon treasures at FAN'S HOUSE

Two "FAN'S HOUSES" have been created, collecting Kumamon's precious and favorite things. Treasures given to Kumamon by his friends, photos from his travels around the world, products made in collaboration with other companies, traditional Kumamoto crafts, and other precious, one-of-a-kind items are on display.

★BAZAAR where you can find all the Kumamon goods

"BAZAAR" is also open and has over 100 kinds of Kumamon goods, including stuffed toys, key chains, T-shirts, and calendars. There are also some "rare items" that can only be obtained at Kumamon Square, so be sure to check it out. It's also a great place to choose souvenirs.

★ Try limited edition sweets at the cafe

There is also a cafe where you can enjoy sweets made with fruits from Kumamoto Prefecture. Dekopon juice, blueberry frappes, and other delicious treats are all available. Take a seat in one of the chairs inside the building and enjoy your meal.

★Write a message to Kumamon

Inside the museum, there is a "Letter to Kumamon" mailbox which Kumamon is sure to read, as well as a message board where you can write your own caricatures and messages.

Kumamon may take photos of messages and illustrations for Kumamon and upload them to social media. Messages can be written in multiple languages, including Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean. Feel free to leave a message. There are plenty of other things at Kumamon Square that will make everyone smile. Admission is free, so if you come to Kumamoto, be sure to stop by.
