``Mini Incense 5 Type Set'' that allows you to enjoy 5 types of scents in your guest room.

All rooms at Genji-koh are equipped with 5 types of mini incense. We order from the long-established fragrance shop "Kungyokudo" in Kyoto. We have the adult scents of ``Sandalwood,'' ``Agarwood,'' and ``Manyo,'' as well as the refreshing scent of ``Kyo no Seseragi,'' and the flower-sweet scent of ``Hanagoromo.'' Each burn time is about 15 minutes, but the room will be filled with a nice scent for a while, so you can enjoy it for a long time. We recommend burning one after checking in, one after dinner, and one before breakfast.

Free incense listening classes held every day

At Genji-koh, we hold a free ``Konko Class'' for guests every day from 4:30 pm for about 30 minutes. Listening to scents means enjoying scents with all five senses. In Japan, flower arranging, tea ceremony, and incense are considered to be the three major performing arts, but in comparison to tea ceremony and flower arrangement, incense is perhaps less familiar. There are several reasons for this, but the main ones are that the fragrant wood used in incense cannot be made artificially, making it difficult to obtain the essential fragrant wood, and as a result, it is difficult to find disciples. At Genji-koh, we provide opportunities like this so that you can experience even a little bit of the Goie style of incense. Please enjoy your stay with us. Please note that check-in or advance reservations are required until around 16:00. Please note that the capacity is basically 6 people on a first-come, first-served basis.

The interior of the building is filled with fragrance

You can enjoy the scent in various places within the hotel. First of all, in the lobby, we are burning "Hana no Hana" by Nippon Kodo. We change out the three types of roses, lilies, and violets about every week. The concept is a scent similar to a fusion of Japanese and Western perfumes, so it has a very elegant scent that reminds you of a ball.

Additionally, sandalwood scent bags are placed in the elevator that leads up to the 10th floor. Enjoy the calming scent as you move through the facility.
