Food replicas were created from the end of the Taisho period to the beginning of the Showa period, and are a uniquely Japanese culture that is still passed down by artisans today. You can experience making food replicas in Osaka, the birthplace of food replicas.

The food samples you can choose from in the experience program are Osaka's specialty "takoyaki" (keychain or magnet), salmon and tuna "sushi" (magnet), and "matcha parfait" (memo stand). The appeal of the completed food samples is that they can be used as accessories or interior decorations.

To make the "Takoyaki," you paint it with acrylic paint to create a burnt color, then paint onions and pickled ginger, pour sauce over it, and top it off with green nori. Once it dries, you can attach a key chain or magnet to complete it.
