"Lines —Aligning your consciousness with the flow" will be held at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa. [6/22 (Sat) - 10/14 (Mon)]

The first exhibition after the full restoration of the museum. Enjoy an artistic time exploring self and other, past and present through "Lines."

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa. It is known as an art spot that is highly regarded not only by Kanazawa residents, but also by people from children to adults, both within and outside the prefecture and overseas. Although the museum is a popular tourist destination, some of its buildings were damaged in the earthquake that occurred in January 2024, and some facilities are currently closed. The museum's first special exhibition after its full restoration, "Lines —Aligning your consciousness with the flow," will be held from June 22nd (Sat) to October 14th (Mon).

This special exhibition focuses on the collection that the museum has been collecting since its opening, and exhibits items that are appropriate for this theme from the current collection of 4,200 items. It explores how the various aspects of lines shape our lives and relationships. It is likely to be a place to think through the works of artists about how they use lines as a basic element in their work and how lines convey meaning, movement, and emotion. There are works that you will want to see with your own eyes, such as "Perspectives" by El Anatsui, a sculptor representing contemporary African art, and "Shape of Your Words [in India 2023/8.1-8.19]" by Nami Yokoyama, known for her neon series. Held in the museum's 20th anniversary year, we would like to kindly invite 10 people (2 sets × 5 people) to this special exhibition, which will be the first exhibition after the museum's full restoration.
