This famous white castle stands on the small hill of Mount Torabuse, 48.9m above sea level, in the center of Wakayama City. Toyotomi Hideyoshi, who subjugated Kishu in 1585, had his younger brother Hidenaga build the castle, and the Kuwayama clan served as the castle lord. The view from the castle tower is excellent, and you can look down on the Wakayama cityscape while enjoying the pleasant breeze.
