Synopsis of The Brand-new Kabuki Production "LUPIN III"

It's the Azuchi-Momoyama period. Master thief Lupin III and his companion Jigen Daisuke are after the national treasure known as "Himiko's Golden Seal." To break the seal on the seal, two swords, Yuryumaru and Meryumaru, are needed, and it is said that once both the seal and the swords are in hand, the power to rule the world will be his. However, Meryumaru is in the hands of Ishikawa Goemon, a famous master thief. Goemon is also after Himiko's Golden Seal. Fujiko Mine, with whom Lupin has a crush, also seems to know something about the situation. Furthermore, Mashiba Hisayoshi, who rules the country, seems to be searching for the Golden Seal, and Lupin's arch rival, Inspector Zenigata, is pursuing Lupin, Goemon, and his men. What will be the outcome of this battle over one treasure?

This original story is set in the Azuchi-Momoyama period (the last third of the 16th century). The great infamous thief Lupin III and his partner Daisuke Jigen are engaged in a fierce struggle for the “Gold Seal of Himiko”, a national treasure. Two treasured swords are needed to break the seal, and it is said that the one who obtains both the swords and the seal gains the power to rule the world.

However, of the two, one of the swords is in the hands of another great thief, Goemon Ishikawa. He too, was searching for the gold seal. On top of that, Hisayoshi Mashiba, the current ruler of Japan, is also in pursuit of the treasure in question.

Meanwhile, Lupin's archnemesis Inspector Zenigata is in pursuit of Lupin, Goemon and the others…

2. A lineup of gorgeous actors! Introducing the main cast and their special kimono costumes!

Lupin III: Ainosuke Kataoka

[This is the key point!] The bright red haori coat that evokes Lupin's image flutters and shines lightly on the Kabuki stage. The background pattern of the kimono is "all about treasure," just like Lupin, who steals treasure!

Goemon Ishikawa: Matsuya Onoe

[This is the key point!] The design was made without making any major changes to the original. The rise is high, making Goemon's stance stand out!

Daisuke Jigen: Emisaburo Ichikawa

[This is the key point!] Jigen's black suit is turned into a raincoat and hakama. His trademark fedora is replaced with a sedge hat, making it look more Kabuki-like!

Fujiko Mine: Emiya Ichikawa

[The key point is this!] Look gorgeous in a classical costume. The design of the katami-gaeshi, which symbolizes duality, the uchikake from the dance "Fujimusume," and the obi reminiscent of a courtesan bring out the beauty of Fujiko-chan!

Inspector Zenigata: Ichikawa Chusha

[The key point here is that he has changed his trademark trench coat to a haori jacket. He has added a brim to his eboshi hat and changed his gun to a jitte, among other clever touches. His kimono has a Yongle Tongbao coin pattern!
