Have fun with the kids! Nakano Ward Heiwa no Mori Park in Tokyo

Hello, I'm Kaorin, a Nakano Tourism Reporter. I enjoy walking around Nakano, Tokyo every day with my 0-year-old and 7-year-old children. This time, I would like to introduce recommended spots in Heiwa no Mori Park for families with children. Heiwa no Mori Park is a perfect park for sports, with the Nakano Municipal Gymnasium, ball game grounds, track and jogging course, but it's also a great place for families with small children.

(1) Bring a change of pants! Mountain slides

It's like a small mountain in a corner of the grass area. This is a fascinating slide that my child got so into it that he ripped the seat of his pants. Whenever we go, the children cheer and slide down in all sorts of poses. Just to be on the safe side, wear pants made of a sturdy material! It's also a good idea to bring a change of clothes. It's in a place where you can see it well, so I recommend that parents lay out a picnic sheet and patiently watch over the child. Once my child gets into it, he'll play here for 30 minutes or an hour, so please be prepared.

(2) In spring, the whole field is covered with white clover

Another attraction of this park is that you can enjoy various plants in each season. In early spring, white clover blooms in abundance in the lawn area. Every year when we come here at this time of year, my daughter begs me to make a crown for her, and I work hard to make one.

(3) In the fall, I collect acorns and fallen leaves.

In autumn, you can enjoy collecting acorns of various shapes. Take a stroll under the trees in the park with a plastic bag in hand. There are many different types of trees, and the colorful fallen leaves are beautiful.

(4) A waterfront plaza filled with wildlife

The pond is home to a variety of creatures, including crayfish, frogs, water striders, and fish! If your child loves animals, bring a net and a bucket.

(5) If you're feeling a bit hungry, try Mori no Nakano Cafe

The cafe next to the gym offers a variety of menu items that are perfect for families with children. It is on the first floor, so you can bring in a stroller.

This is the lunch for me and my older child on a certain day. The bolognese was plentiful and very satisfying. If you ask them to leave out the mustard from the egg sandwich, even small children can eat it.

For a snack after playing and working up a sweat, they also offer ice cream. It comes in a cup, so it's easy for children to eat. They also have a wide variety of other menu items, including curry, baked goods, and drinks.

The shop has sofa seats that are high enough for small children to sit on. Of course, we also recommend taking out the food and enjoying it as a picnic.

Toilets, diaper facilities and nursing rooms are also available!

It is located on the first floor of the general gymnasium. As expected of a new public facility, the facilities are beautiful! The photo shows the nursing room. It can be locked, so you can feel safe. There are also various play equipment in the park, so you can enjoy various activities. In the summer, you can also enjoy playing in the water. Although we have not used it yet, it is also nice that there is a barbecue site. Please come and visit on a nice day.
