Oda Nobuyasu constructed a jin'ya with permission from the shogunate in 1714. It burned down in 1818 but was later rebuilt.
The surviving buildings are the Nagayamon gate, which was the main gate of the jin'ya, and part of the Omote Goten palace, but it has been designated a national historic site as one of the few remaining jin'ya remains in the country and is also valuable for considering the transition of the educational system from the end of the Edo period to modern times, as it was used as an elementary school from the Meiji period onwards.
